Raced a 2000 Accord

I was going to see some *****es down in colts neck new jersey tonight wit my boy when a 2000 honda accord 4-door v6 flys past me. of course i catch up to him to **** around considering i have no performance mods he gets in front of me and hits his flashers. we take off from about 80 or so and go at it. we are about even when i begin to increase my speed to 130 and then he backed down. i do have a ? at 130 it seemed to stop. is there a governor on our cars??

Yep sure is. Read the stickies. Apparently GLEs and GXEs are affected by this while SEs are not.

If you're in an SE, there is no speed governor. You just hit the aerodynamic "wall" that everyone in an unmodded 4th Gen hits around 130. It's just a sloooow climb from there on up.

If you're Auto, try leaving the overdrive button "off" until you pass 120mph. This will give you a stronger shift point into fourth and carry you to a higher top speed than if you leave the overdrive "on."

Correct, leave OD off until the moment you see in my sig pic. This will drop you into 4th gear a bit higher RPM, which helps you keep climbing. But, it's still pretty slow going from 130 on up.
