Legend's are awesome! I raced one the other night up to 140 then cruised at that speed for a while. We were pretty much neck and neck. I have a 5-speed, they will probably beat an auto.

auto vs auto legend will win because my cousin has a legend auto. It beats my Maxima hands down. 6-speed Legend will just kick ***. Too bad Acura doesn't make cars like the Legend anymore. 3.2 is supposed to be the newer model legends so I guess the type-s is sort of like the Legend of today.

They have a 6spd tranny and 40 more horses. with 230 stock. I LOVE those cars. They are rare but they can kick azz and they are reliable. They are probably heavier though.. but with mods, you should be close, if you are a 5spd that is. There aren't many mods available for them

My friend has a 1995 Legend Coupe. Its auto. U can check out his site at http://bom.dns2go.com/ylonline2002/. Well anyway, he let me drive it. Trust me, it doesn't kick as well as the maxima's do. They do have more hp. But the car is 500lbs more. Plus the stock legend with 230hp only has 206 torque. Our cars have 205. So off the line it should beat the legend. When i drove his car on the road, it doesn't feel quick. If you guys have a chance, drive one and u'll see the difference. At WOT, maxima is louder and kicks better. The legend at WOT feels like ur cruising.

legend's are very fast, even thought it does weigh more - it has the HP to back it up

How did you defeat the speed limiter on your car? My 97 GXE 5spd will only go about 115. Is there an easy fix for that?

Yep... click search in the upper right hand corner of your screen and do a search for "Ben's ECU Mod" or just "ECU Mod." I've done the mod and it works. You can read all about it in the thread that search will bring up.

Yeah, the legend must go down as one of the classiest looking modern cars ever made. Something about them, totally timeless and beautiful. The RL doesn't quite go there. The last (I think 2?) years they made the legend, it came with the more powerful 230 hp V-6. The 230 hp sedan got those nicer looking big mag wheels, too.

I know the Legend coupe got the 6 speed. Did the sedan get it too??

The sedan has an optional model (GS) that does come with the TYPE II engine found in the oupe and it is also 6speed.

Nice. I learned much later that the 6 speed was available with the type II engine. If I had known, I'd probably be driving one now

legend

i owned two legend coupes a 1991 and a 1995. the 94 and 95 are the type2 230 hp engine. which is also the optional 6 speed. i know for a fact that the coupe will beat the maxima auto or stick. i had one and had plenty of racin experiences.

True, the 6speed coupes 0-60 time is 6.2 seconds stock..I love that car : ). I was between a 93 coupe and a 97 maxima, i chose the max cause i dindt want an old acura. Anyways, he max has nicer interior (SE) b/b.

This what my friend had to say about Legends, he owns a 92.

"headers coming in from Japan = )
Remus Exhaust works really well, quiet, and sound really good
Custom Home Made CAI is sweet too = )
Yup yup, they are reliable cuz my 92 L Sedan Auto just hit 179K miles and I'm going in for timing belt/water pump replacement tomorrow~
Can beat maxima autos for sure, even the current version, cuz I take them for breakfast from time to time, but never raced with a stick so I don't know~"

Yeah, I don't know what Acura is thinking honestly, the Legend was a great car. Those new 255HP Maximas, can take a Legend, those things are fast

Just FYI...

The current 3.5 RL is what the Legend turned into. The TL is what has become of the old Vigor.

That's what it's supposed to be, but the TL looks more like a legend than the RL ever will. The TL-S is pretty much the Legend's 2nd coming, in my book. RL's too bloated.

Also, the vigor was weird. What was up with the 5 cylinder engine?? Smoothness of a 6 but economy of a 4?? Yeah, right. Audi played with 5 cylinder engines for a while, too. I guess it was economics.

Minh, thnx

I ran a 94 Legend coupe auto with an I/E last weekend twice from a 35-75mph roll and I was only able to pull on him 1 to 1.5 cars. I was steadily walking him from the start, but I was still very impressed. His best was a 15.2 which is pretty good. I think from a stop is where I would put the most distance on him.
