Acid Rain Paint Protection?

What is this crap?

I went to look at a Maxima and the dealer says that they put "Acid Rain paint protection" on all cars and then upcharge them 1000$ for this service.

WTF?!? It seems totaly unnecessary to me. I don't want to pay 1000$ for it. Is this BS or is it not an option?

Ask to see the warranty you get and read the whole thing. There are very few paint protections on the market that guard against acid rain damage. If they tell you one application will last forever that's bull@#$*.

Mainly I just think its total BS. I think it's a way to get an extra 1000$ out of people.

Did your cars have one tagged on there? I'll just go to another Nissan dealership!

BTW - Are all dealerships offering these cars at 6000$ off prices? Or is that just mine?
