Brand new, 2002 Maxima SE auto, with Super Black and black cloth interior, all standard features and nissan maxima floor mats, and front and rear body colored mud guards. 22,500 and with TT&L it was drive-out at 24,100. What a deal! Thats a full $3500 off MSRP, and that was a month ago, they are probably cheaper now because they are drawing ever closer to the release of the new model... Especially if rumors are true and they release the slightly freshened '03 in May... They will be dropping those 02's like a hot rock at that point.
What amazes me is that this time last year I was looking at the '01's and they are giving better deals right now on the MUCH improved 02 model than the 01 the same time last year. The sticker price really didn't even change. And you now get a 255hp monster for an engine!
I think I got a good deal I paid 25,000 for mine 2k2 se no leather cause i wanted after market leather extended warranty 7 years including tax tags titles and fees it came out to be 25,000 total what do you think
Hey Matthew here in Dallas you cant get them that cheap. I paid way more for mine of course I got mine when they first came that. 21,900 for the Bose and the roof, if I was in the Market I would jump on that big time!

But I wound up getting mine at Mossy Nissan in Houston and drove it back up to Arlington (Dallas/Fort Worth area)... Mossy was nice and you see from my above post in this thread how good the deal was!
I got my 2002 Maj. Blue SE like a month ago... $23000 for no options except for a sunroof. I took the rebate instead of financing. It was the cheapest deal I could find here in eastern PA. [out of like only 3 Nissan dealers somewhat close to me]
OK enough with the price comparing the thing is we all got ours maximas and we all know we got a great fast reliable sporty/luxury car and we are the fing ISH man J/K anyway if you got one congrats I know I am happy with mine

Ha....
$22.5 is OK
Carpoint says the invoice price for the options you specified comes to $23,556. Subtract the rebate and you're looking at $22,556 before taxes and title. So it looks like you went into his holdback for $6.00. Not bad.
As far as MSRP is concerned, that's now just a number. I don't think many people care about MSRP when it's so easy to find out what the dealer paid for the car. My dealer congratulated me on how much off MSRP I paid for the car. I laughed.

I agree with Matthew. Mossy here in H-town seems to give the best deals of the lot. And though i haven't had any experience with the service peeps in other dealerships the one's at Mossy seem lenient about mods. Heck, they were the one who talked to me about "An aftermarket intake will make your engine come alive".

...I know MSRP is bogus, I still think for the car I drive $22,500 is a great deal. I know there are people still paying $1500 more than this and thinking they are doing well, because they didn't haggle like me. I had invoice and dealer prices in front of me when I made this deal, I was mostly using the MSRP number for impact when considering all the improvements the Max underwent from 01 to 02, and for the MSRP to only go up like $500... Thats amazing. My opinion, if the Altima weren't such a trendy hot new car right now, we would all be paying a lot more for our 02 Max, it would be getting more attention and mark-up. Instead, we have an overall lesser car to thank for us getting such a great deal... Just think, new for 02 is 33 more horsepower, standard Xenon and ABS, and the deals are still better than a year ago??? Crazy...

1) I don't like to haggle;
2) The salesman has to earn a living too, ya know!;
3) Well, I did get $750 off MSRP, ain't that great!?;
4) I don't have time to shop.
Some people spend gazillions of hours clipping out food coupons which saves them a few hundred dollars a year, but they throw away their savings 10 times over when buying a new car.
I'm actually glad the Altima is getting this year's spotlight. It gives us Maxima enthusiasts buying power. And I don't see any rebates on the Altima...
I got mine for $22,425 back when the rebate was $500 -- 4-pc splash guards and floor mats only (Maj Blue / Frost cloth). The original price we agreed upon was $23,411 but they screwed up on the paperwork to the tune of about $987 in my favor (I caught it, they ate it).
I went to the dealership because i recently sold my 2k se maxima, and I wanted a new 2k2 6 speed. The best deal they could work out for me was 27,100 drive out. Is this at al a good deal? its the most basic maxima thats availible, basically a strip down Se.
Take a look at my sig. $27,150 out the door. Vob Nissan, Gaithersburg MD. Coulda got a better price
if I'd haggled.

Shopped hard for an auto or stick SE with leather, bose, roof, splash guards and mats. After about 6 weeks of looking and talking decided $26,000, out the door, was the best I could do. Total will be about $300 higher because of having the dealer find a Grey Luster and go get it. I couldn't get most managers anywhere close to that number and decided to quit gabbing and start counting- one dollar, two dollars,... etc.
It's okay. Not particularly stellar but pretty good. I got mine for a couple hundred less than that and it includes a 6/75k extended warranty ($800 value)
