Best CAI \ Airfilter combo out there

Ok heres the situation, I just bought a 2002 SE Max and I was wondering what the best CAI / Airfilter combo out there. I've been hitting this site for the last 2 months and I love it, I'm not to going to act like I know everything about cars but I'm learning.

I know the airfilter I can just install but for the CAI are there any systems out there that I don';t have to drill a hole and are they better or worse then the ones you have to?

Any info would much appreciated
Thanx

To the best of my knowledge, there is still only one true CAI setup for the Maxima. That's the Place Racing CAI. And it does require cutting a hole in the fender. But such is the price one pays for glory!

Conceptually a true CAI is better than an underhood cone intake because it places the air filter outside of the engine bay, thereby reducing heat wash from the engine.

I contacted Place Racing and they say they do make a CAI for the 2K2 Maxima. They're out of stock right now but they're accepting orders. They expect to have more inventory in about one week.

You can contact Place Racing at 626-334-3345.

Don't fret having the hole, you'll never know it's there... but you will feel the power difference of the intake. You can also get the Place Racing CAI from CustomMaxima.com, with the new Monster filter-addes and additional 2-3HP over the old K&N filter.

I live in MO, and had my CAI installed in October. For the last 5 months I have been amazed at the differenc this intake made to my power. On a really cold day (i.e. 30 degrees or lower), wow, you won't believe the difference you can feel.

Where do you live in MO?

Also, where do you cut the hole at?

KC, MO.

Goto the main page of the .org, and choose "shop talk", then "modifications". There is a link under "ENGINE" that explains it all and gives pics.

As you will see, this is the case with most questions. Just search around the .org links, and use the forum "search" function, and you will find most of your answers.

there is the frankencar intake for the 2k2's that doesn't require a hole and gives a 10hp dynoed gain and we are soon switching over to monster flow fitlers also.
