56 is the rear sens however its not as acurate because by the time the exhaust has reached it, it has been altered by the cats. Its fine to use if you have no cats.

You could just use the stripped shielded wire off the wires for the O2 sensore by the front bank and make this much easier on yourself.

it is not a good idea to tap in "shielded" wires.. there is a reason they are shielded..

actually, if you are tapping into the o2 sensor under the hood, there are 3 wires. on the plugs to the sensors under the hood, (there are 2- a front and a back) there's a red, a white, and a blue. the rear sensor has the same scheme, just a stripe on each wire.

you need to tap the blue one. i tapped both sensor plugs and got the same results from each one.

i actually got a seperate o2 sensor to install specifically for running my a/f gauge. it's an NTK part #21000. it has a single wire and should be more accurate than piggybacking the ecu. this might be something to consider. it's not expensive at all. the sensor only costs about $25 and you can get a bung to weld into your exhaust for about $6 from summit.

good luck!!

I'm not sure about the years... but I don't think they are different (based on Cheston's use of 95 ECU on his 97)

The picture is of the harness side (hence the HS on the pic)... in otherwords, the way you would see it on the ECU. It's easier to do than running the wire from the engine compartment IMO. Just remove the plastic cover on the passenger side foot area. Take care with the harness/ECU though and keep in mind that you have to fit everything back under the clear plastic piece of the harness.
