ABS 4 wheel vs ANTI LOCK brakes
ABS 4 wheel vs ANTI LOCK brakes
what in the blue hizell is the difference? I know i have one of them and i think it's anti lock brakes because even when i floor the brakes, my car never makes them screech sounds and shows that cloud of smoke, in fact, it feels as if i'm hydroplaning cause i press it and im still moving more than i expect to but it saved me one time when i was in ice driving down springfield ave....however i can't tell what's the difference between the two....someone clear this up for me?
Re: ABS 4 wheel vs ANTI LOCK brakes
ABS = Anti-Lock Braking System
Same.
You're probably thinking of TCS or something similar, Traction Control System.
ABS works only when you brake ... if your wheels lock up, it will pulsate your brakes to allow you to control your car.
TCS will detect wheel slip while the car is moving. If this happens, it will retard fuel and/or vary the brakes to allow better control under slippery conditions.
Helpful, I hope.
