Homemade CAI

Can you use PCV piping that is used in houses to make a CAI. I was told by a friend that the pipe could break and pieces could go into the engine and damage it, also that at high temps that the piping puts out toxic fumes. Is there anybody out there using this method? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Read the threads and do the search, this has been discussed many times. Bottom line, Don't do it, with pvc you will suck shavings into your intake and damage the engine. Buy a real intake and be done with it or if you must make one, do it correctly with materials that will not break apart and be sucked into the engine.
