What do you all have your timing set to?
To clearify...look up the old posts for detailed info on doing the mod. Two: when setting the advancement, it is advanced TO 20 degrees, not 20 degrees over. I don't know the angle, but I'd say that far would come close to causing the plug to fire almost before it reaced top dead center! The oem timing is set to about 15 (mine was 16) so IMO you should go 5 over to 20, I went to 21. I tried the other suggestion of 8 over and it felt like I lost power. I inspected my plugs, and I saw signs of detonation though I couldn't hear it while running. So, I went to 21 and it has really picked up in the lower rpm's. Instead of picking up at around 3,500 rpm, it picks up around 2,500-3,000 and more aggressively! (5 speed)

If ya got a Haynes manual it'll tell u how to set ignition timing in the tune up and maint. section. Requires a timing light and a 12mm socket/ratchet. If u have the light its simple. If u dont know what a timing is, ill post a more detailed thing later(gotta go take my SAT's now hehe).
detailed explanation on my website
Check out my site, it has detailed info on how to advance the timing. Look in the FAQ and there is an explanation on how the timing advance works.
I've had mine at 20 for a couple years now.

Well Fast4EN, you be the judge. Get on my site and go to the videos and compare my acceleration to yours. I had the intake, timing, and f pipe modifications on that run, as well as a 240 lb friend in the passenger seat doing the camera. My car runs great with the advanced timing. It's tough to tell an improvement difference, but I did.
