Raced a Mustang GT 4.6L on the highway today!

Today we were on our way to the Track and Cumalot moves out of the way in my rear view mirror and I see a Mustang fast approaching from the rear, so to my luck I stay in the left and lane and he gets beside me and he punches it, so I drop it to third quickly shift to fourth and I started pulling away, I shifted to fifth and put a whole car length on him. Why not more car lengths?, I had four wheels in my trunk a cooler full of drinks and a spare jack.

We also try to double team this 3.5 Altima but the guy got off the highway so me and Mike were dissappointed we couldnt run him , we been anxious to run one on of those and a 2002 Maxima. But no luck yet.

So true...
One of my friend has an auto '95 5.0L GT and another a 5spd Saleen S-281. One runs high 15s, the other low 14s. They're like completely different cars.

You know what there is this guy on the base where I work at and the idiot reved his engine at me while I am cruising at 15 MPH leaving the base and I have my wife and kid in the car, and my wife just cant stand people that Rev at me cause I dont do that **** at no one, and shes like WTF wrong with that id!ot and to my surprise the id!iot is supercharged as well. I spoke the the dudes wife and told him why did he do that? he said in California most Honda owners purchase a big oooh tack and they think they are fast, so I replied I dont have gauges for the looks I am superchared as well and I was minding my business, she was like oooh really, no big deal, but yes Mustangs are fast I am not going to even lie.

lol...yeah the track experience today was something to forget. However, on the highway, it was fun. I sort of took my disappointment at the track out on the highway when I was heading home from the track. I was going pretty fast, funny to see all the cars getting out of my way. I love the HIDs! I got them aimed properly, so not blinding anyone, but still bright enough that people will notice and get out of the way.

Btw Jaime you fool. When we were going back home, I got in front of you to see how your HIDs looked. Then we got side by side, you thought I wanted to race you? LOL. I was trying to tell you that your HIDs were good to go that they were at the right height. I tried to give you a thumbs up signal about the HIDs. Maybe I should call you on the cell instead...lol.

I ran a 14.5 and kept on spinning away like a mustang with no traction control, I need a Quaife Diff, thats what I need, I am not going to the race track no more until I tune this car correctly. I also raced this Supra w/a big turbo upgrade and this 14 year old kid was driving it I smoke him twice I was just that determined to run him, but the owner ran a 11.9 with it.

Yeah I had enough racing too, that's why I thought, "WTH? he still want to race some more?" That's why I slowed down and let you go, I was tired too. However, later I just got tired of going so slow. Funny how you tried to track me down when I speed off. If I kept going at the high speed, you wouldn't have caught me. I knew you had the speed limiter, so I knew I had an advantage. Btw, it was easy to track you to see if how close you were with them HIDs.

14 years old? You sure? He looked much older.

LOL! That Supra guy sucked big time. He got killed so badly by that Stealth. I think I saw the Stealth guy laughing.

Mike that kid was 14 because the owner was sitting with him and no one wanted to race him so reassured me the 14 year old kid knew how t drive, when his boost kicked in he started to catch up to me but by then I was almost done thats how I got a 14.5

I don't think the Stealth guy upgraded his turbo yet. Actually he was still running 12s for the most part. Just once that I saw he busted out a 11.9, so I doubt he upgraded the turbo.

Why the heck did the owner let the kid drive anyway? Was it his son? I also heard that the clutch in the Supra was gone because the guy that gave us the timeslip told me he could smell a burnt clutch.

You know why is gone becuase he was missing 2nd gear and they did not know how to drive it. Look at that nice supra and here is this young kid no older then 18 years of age tearing up this nice car, and the 14 year old kid probably a family member.

How are you only trapping at 97mph with 10psi???? I trapped at 99mph with only a 50-shot of Nitrous...I know a few N/A 5-speed guys that trap in the 96mph range...something is not right.

I had Mardigras Slicks also I went to a 2 step colder plugs, last time I went with my 18s I was running 14.7 and 8 consistently, now that I used the slicks I was trying a combination of launches those koseis and drag radials were so light that my wheels kept on spinning, also for now I quit this track stuff I just can get it. When I finish paying off my bills Ill tune the car properly. , I think I am like Cumalot going for the looks and if I need a little boost to have one it will be there.

Even with lots of wheelspin you shoul still have a high trap speed. Is the car running really rich or something??

Slicks? You mean the drag radials? Maybe you just not used to them.

Yeah, my track experience was disappointing as well. I deleted the thread about my bad experience, seem like nobody gives a **** anyway. So much for the support of your fellow members.

It just doesn't seem right that I'm getting same ET/MPHs has Jay25 and his SC Max. Plus my 60 foots are similar (maybe a litle higher) and I'm also at a bit higher elevation too (1100').

Jay25-
Do you have big system in the trunk? Do those 18s weigh 50lbs? Is your car running really rich?

Re: Raced a Mustang GT 4.6L on the highway today!

I believe this easily enough. Two years ago I took my car to Sears Point for a day with Jim Russell Racing. There was a Mustang 4.6 with a (Jackson?) supercharger, and I hung with him all day. The Mustang guy was pretty disappointed. Maximas are so much fun!

Dave
I have no speakers, no system at all!

Here is the deal with 18s no supercharger best time 15.9

with supercharger 14.6, and I am consitent with 14's with my 18s, now drag radials I spin for a couple of milliseconds all in first gear and the best time 14.5.

I checked the Fuel pressure at 10PSI is 100PSI (fuel pressure),

You know what Dave I dont know how to drive my car on the track, cant launch I do redline to 6000RPMs maybe I need to go a bit higher and or I may need a quaife. For now Ill pay all these bills and later on continue this 13 second mission.

your E.T.s are about a second slower than they shoudl be...before your supercharger...14.9 with 18" rims sounds about right...after the S/Cer....and with 10psi...13.5 sounds about right for an O.K. driver....

I consider myself alright driver, maybe I am not doing something correctly, I don t know, I guess I just suck big time or my car may need a little more tuning, heck I dont even have a clue how much HP I have now. I have a cattman Ypipe and greddy exhaust. I think I need to drop that Ypipe and take a good look at it, thats the only thing I can think of. Mardigras on a nice day runs nothing but straight 13s all day from low to high and maybe on a bad run hell get a 14.2 or something like that but thats rare. Then again he has the Quaife, the ME variable intake and a straight pipe, and I cant use the excuse lighter wheels becuase I used his Koseis this weekend. So I am clueless at the moment.

Jaime, I agree with Briguy, check your ypipe. Not too long ago, someone posted about their Cattman ypipe being clogged or something like that at the flex section. You should check it out.

Yeah, I want to go. I still have no idea where it will take place at. Couldn't we buy the ticket at HIN? If you could get the ticket at a good price, that would be nice. Let me know.
