can some one tell me whats the different in the tail lights.some brake lights are on the top and some are on the bottom??????? anyone know the differance?in years etc. cause i don't like the brake like on the bottom and also how do u clear them out?(make them red clear?)

97-99 brake on top, turning signal on bottom (can be cleared out)
95-96 brake on bottom, turning signal on top (cannot be cleared out)

if you have a 97-99 you can go to maximadriver.com --> how2 --> cosmetics --> red/clear
if you have a 95-96 you have to find all clears (very hard to find) and have them painted .. if you want DavidL is doing a group deal for the 95-96 red/clears ... he does a fantastic job

You can't get all clears at Nopionline.com, those are discontinued and you will most likely have your order canceled if you try. Just like the Pacesetter STS is on Nopi but no available. Also, 95/96 tails CAN be cleared out, same way that 97-99's can. Do a search.

 

i'm was under the impression that they couldn't be cleared out because the amber in the tail light is the plastic and not just an insert ... hmmmm

 

There have been a few threads saying that the plastic can be pulled out just like the other lights. hmm, now I'm doubting myself, see what you've done? I'll check it out.

hi, for the 96-97 the amber can not be pull out cuz its one piece. the 98-99 the amber are separat piece so you can pull it out easlie. hope this helps. if you need infro to do this job i can help cuz i did my recently. total time to do it is about 1 hours.

No you can't.

 

The 96 and 97 tails aren't the same. The 95 and 96 can't be pulled out, the 97-99 can be. This is simple stuff, CMK (common maxima knowledge)
