HELP! I broke my clearance light housings...

HELP! I was out messing around with my car today. I fixed my mesh grille, painted my turn signal bulbs with a light coat of silver, and then I decided to attempt to switch my clearance light bulbs to the 27W setting.

Well, I broke both housings white attempting to do this. I started with the left side. I forgot to unscrew the screw on the top (yeah, I know I'm an idiot). Anyways, that piece broke off and than the piece where the ball joint is broke. So now, all I can do it sit the left clearance light housing in there and it basically just falls out. On the right side, I just broke the ball joint piece off.

I don't know how the ball joint pieces broke. I did exactly what the owners manual said to take these housings off, with the exception of forgetting to unscrew the screw on the left side.

Anyway, the right housing is fine. I put the screw in and it's tight enough, but the left side won't stay in. There's no way I can drive my car with it in there.

Does anyone have the part numbers for these lights so I can re-order new ones?

Thanks,
-Nick

did you just try and grasp the light and pull as hard as you could?...i tried that the first time and took a little chip out of the housing, but then i wiggled it out a little bit and sprayed some WD40 on the ball and socket joint...i let it sit for about 3 minutes and wiggled it out a little more...then placed a flathead screwdriver in the middle of the joint, and turned...popped out very easily...solved a major headache of spending a long time trying to just pull as hard as i could, because that wasn't working

yes. I followed the directions that the owners manual said. I figured it was just a fluke that I broke the left side. The ball joints weren't budging, so I just kept trying to pull them off. Then the piece just snapped. They were in there really tight for some reason.

I had a cracked clearance lamp so I decided to get a new one and did the clearance rewire also - and broke both ball/sockets... you don't really need them because they fit in pretty tight and as long as you screw em down they'll be fine...

BTW, I got the new clearance lamp from www.autbodypartsonline.com for about $35 shipped - it took a week though, they're in LA.
