boxster fans?

man, i'm all riled up. my girl and i are having an argument about her pops' boxster S and my max. she keeps sayin she'll beat the pants off me, and i know its a strong porsche but its by no means a turbo porsche. i am a 5speed with y pipe, rear section and intake. ive been feeling sluggish lately but the boxster is not as fast as a recent model m3 which i have done pretty well against, though ended up losing to. she says its a boxster S but i dont think she's too sure. dual tailpipes? red calipers? anyway, once i got mad and challenged her to make her pops agree to take it to the track she said she's kidding.
either way, how do you think it'd go? 250hp/225tq [@ 6200rpm(?)] thats not TOO far off from our N/A cars. i'm not sure but does a 6 speed tranny aid top speed performance, or would it be better for quick acceleration? i'd kick her **** during shifts.
ive never been a boxster fan, what do you think? lose or not, it woudlnt be by much

if its a Boxster S, and she can drive, you'll lose. If one of those conditions is not true, you might have a chance.

The boxster is not that great, the Boxster S will smoke u. I was riding in my friend's es300 the other day in San Fran, and sum guy pulls up in a 97 blue boxster with subs in the front trunk. He gave me a dirty look and thought he was tight with his friend, mayb boyfriend in the car. I wish I had my stock I30t with me. He woulda probably taken me by a little, but still, its a porsche vs a family sedan Sorry for going off topic...

yeah i have no doubt theyre fast, turbo or not, it is a porsche with an I-6. i got beat by a late 90's m3 a month ago, but it wasn't embarassing. so i doubt racing a boxster S would be a complete whooping.
and though she can drive stick, she would only be as good as any new stick driver that does not yet know how to DRIVE the car.
its her pops ill have to worry bout racing (oooh that'd be a good one- meet the parents, race father)

Straight six cylinder instead of V-6...3 cylinders on each side looks like a V. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It does not, it has a Flat 3.2 Liter 6 or Horizontally Opposed 3.2 Liter 6
thanks- my bad. FLAT SIX . i was just looking at supras and was thinking I-6. all mixed up.

If the Boxster S is driven even moderately well you'll get spanked.

Are you talking about the E46 M3? If you are the Boxster S is actually quite a bit slower.

The boxster S will smoke you, don't underestimate it. It runs about 14 flat. The regular boxster runs about 15.1 or so. I think you will have a chance with the regular boxster, but not the S. Just looking about for you

Am I reading these postings right? What have you guys been smoking? A Boxster S versus a 4th generation Maxima; unless it is her first time driving a stick or she forgets the keys, you will get killed.

I love my Maxima, but we are talking about one of the nicest roadsters around. Lets get serious.

Boxsters are great handling roadsters but they arent that quick straight line 0-60 in 5.5 for a 50K car is not very impressive but that said yes... a stock non SC or NOS 4th gen Max would have a tough time takin out a Boxster unless the Boxster driver doesnt know how to drive!

A 14 second quarter mile with a 100 MPH trap speed seems pretty quick to me.

E36 will loose to a Boxster S unless the E36 is modded... The E46 on the other hand will pound a Boxster S, (well maybe not pound, but definately beat it)... The Boxster S on the other hand will spank a 4th gen fairly easily... They're more of a fair match with an S/C, or NOS'ed Max

Unless you have a 100 shot of nitrous, you will lose badly to a boxter s. Even with a sc, you'll still lose.
