This is ridiculous (Nissan dealer story)

So I call my local Nissan dealer to see if they have touch-up paint in stock for my 2k2. They don't. Okay, strike number one. Why the hell don't you have touch-up paint in stock on a brand new model? This is Arizona, folks and my car is white, just like 60% of all other new cars sold here!!

So the parts guy says he'll have to order it. I ask him if he could please order some for me.

"You'll have to come in and prepay before I can order any parts!"

You have GOT to be kidding me, I say. Nope. Pretty sad that a dealer won't order a 10 f**king dollar bottle of touch-up paint without a prepay. The worst part is this dealer is the closest one to my house by far and I probably won't go back there because of this. Fockers!!!!!

So I call another dealer and they don't have any in stock either (WTF!?!) but at least they'll order it without a prepay!! Geez....

ha..

welcome to Nissan..

Call Dave B, have him ship you some touchup paint. 3 days versus 3 weeks (dealer). And probably cost less.. his number is in the stickies above

I think cost on touch-up paint is about $2.50-$2.75 per bottle.

I had the same experience , they couldnt even find a part number for it. Just go to Infinity, they have it in stock, since it's an Infinity Color. I paid 4.99, and got to test the G35 !

sorry to hear about this....I think this is how nissan conducts business. I tried to order a car cover from a dealer and they did ask me to put down some money for it....I was in need of car cover b/c I was living in a ghetto area and kids just egg ur car for fun.

but a bottle of touch up and need money down sounds rediculous.

I got those for 6 dollars btw.

Damn you!! You bought my bottle!! j/k

But ABC Nissan is the stupid dealer that gave me this line of crap!!!!! The $10 was a guess. I didn't ask him how much it was. My friend just bought touch-up paint for his Camry and it was $10. So, I guess Toyota overprices their touch-up paint like they do their cars!

So now that's even more ridiculous. They want me to prepay $4!!! I'm definitely never stepping foot in that dealer again.

I've used the paint pen and .... YES... forget normal brush paint... The pen is so easy to use, just like a regular permanent marker...

To you $10 is nothing to them its a lot. Imagine 100 people preorder the paint and never show up. Thats $1000 loss. Every penny counts in a business.

The point is... why dont they just stock some of each colors? It probably cost them 4$ each... It's just a matter of good inventory management....

Ummm yeah. I had just bought the last bottle last week and the guy told me that 4 bottles of that color were bought the day before. Why wouldn't they have already ordered like 10 or so....? ABC sucks. All the Van Tyle dealerships are out to get you. Try Brown and Brown in Mesa or Tempe.

I prefer the the paint pen. It is easier for me to use and doesn't leave a 'blob' like the brush does (maybe I'm a klutz). Anyway, just order from Courtesy and you will have it in about a week. Shipping is way too high but oh well ... I gave my Nissan dealer the part number for the pen and he couldn't find it. I think it is worth getting. IMO.
