UDP Dynojet Results, 2K2 VQ35

I finally had the car re-dynoed with the UDP. Results are predictable! Click the link to the left to see the dynojet graphs.

Nice job on postin those pics Greg! So an increase of 3.6-5.4hp I guess for just changing a pulley thats awesome!

Thanks for doing this Greg. Are these dynoes SAE correcterd and could you also post the Barometer level of each run(before and after)? Thanks

It's still not SAE corrected. Both the before and after runs. Greg, can you ask the shop to give you SAE corrected graphs? That way we can see if the gains are attributable to the UDP and not just environmental factors.

Thanks.

im just curious. on your pre-UDP runs:

if HP is derived from torque how did you get more torque on run 3 than on run 2 but less HP?

soundmike...care to take this one?

Hi Guys,

All of the dyno runs are "STD Corrected" which is how the dynoshop does it. On both my "before" and "after" dyno runs, the days were essentially "perfect" so there is virtually no difference in STD, SAE Corrected, or Uncorrected runs. They brought them up on the screen to show me, but as I mentioned, there was virtually no difference. The SAE Corrected graph(which I don't have) was about 1 hp and 1 lb-foot of Torque LESS than the graphs I posted.

The dyno runs didn't cost me anything because they were done by Unorthodox Racing for their web site. The normal charge where I went is $60 per run, by appointment only.

The UDP labor was free (remember - my car was the very first 2K2 test mule fitted with the new pulley, so Unorthodox did not charge).

I'd like to... but i don't exactly know the answer to that question.

Greg, STD is not corrected. What exactly is "perfect"? Per Emax, can you get the correction factor for those days just to be more accurate?

Even on your pre-dyno runs (HP-wise) you got a 5hp difference between 1st and 2nd runs.

Admiteddly, the gained torque is quite impressive on the post-UDP run though.

So you're saying that the differences between the actual readings and the SAE corrected values were nearly identical on both the pre- and post-UDP runs?

It's probably still a good idea to get the corrected plots. People will question the validity of the results otherwise.

Sorry - my use of the term "STD Corrected" was wrong. I should have just said "STD". The only plots I have access to are the ones I posted on my site. People can still question the results if they want to, but I'm satisfied!

Don't let Sprite see this thread... he'll probably talk about how the results are skewed beacause they are STD.

corrected and uncorrected can be as much as 10 - 15 hp difference.. for all we know.. he could have lost power and it showed gain.. this doesn't mean ****..

Honestly, I didn't need a dyno to verify gains. The proof is in the butt. But its refreshing to know its not all in my head. So does that mean my head is in my butt? Oh nevermind, I'm confused.

We did two post-UDP dyno pulls yesterday. The first one was pretty close to the second. No two are ever identical, so you usually average them (or depending on who you're trying to deceive, take the one that makes you look best!
