I thought about getting one for my car. I priced a couple with aboyt 40,000m for like $650. The only problem is you will need a new tranny, ecu, wire harness and probablt a lot of custom work. There would be a lot of advantages to having that engine, but I decided that it was not worth the trouble. Anything can be done though.

92GXE, touring wing, 18” racing wheels, Port&Polished intake, custom intake, custom yellow interior, racing seats, back seats taken out and replaced with subs and amps, NOS kit, Suspension tech. Lowering springs, custom grille, soon to be custom painted and have the whole engine rebuilt for big shot NOS and custom SC and tranny converted to 5-speed.

I don't think its worth the time or effort. All you gain is more lowend-midrange torque and you have less highend power vs a VE30DE. Not to mention the VQ uses 3 engine mounts which means custom drive axles because the tranny will sit farther to the driver side. Totally not worth doing, hell you might as well swap a 85-89 300zx turbo engine.

I think that scmax wants to do the swap because of all the the engine upgrades. my whole point in wanting to use that engine was so I could put the supercharger on it. It would be a lot nicer than a VG30ET but your right. The custimizing that would take place would not be worth the money, and everything might not end up working in the long run. But if you want to try it I say go ahead. I hope you got lots of cash to waste though.

would the VE engine fit straight into a 90SE with a VG? Obviously I would need the ECU reprogrammed (again), but what other complications would there be?
