CustomMaxima.com has them for $64.00 a pair. http://www.custommaxima.com/PiaaFogLight.html

Has anybody had any problems with these 110w bulbs being too bright or getting too hot and causing damage to your car's wiring? I'm uncertain about getting these or PIAA's 85w Super White Platinum fog lights. http://www.piaa.com/h3bulbs.html

Comments, suggestions appreciated....

Don't do it.Stick with the stock wattage or you will start melting your shiet. The stock wattage(55watts) is plenty bright.I have the eaglite from xenon for 15$ a pair and they are super bright compared to the stock junkers.

Both bulbs listed above are 55w bulbs but claim to produce 110w and 85w.

From the websites above:
The Xtreme White Plus H3 bulb is a 55 watt bulb which gives the light of a 110 watt bulb. 55w = 110w, 4150K

The Super White Platinum 55w = 85w, 3800K

www.5thgenmaximas.com has a write-up for swapping out foglights; I used theirs when I got my new fogs. Headlights are easy to do by yourself. The main thing to remember is never touch any of the bulbs with your fingers, just hold them by their metal housings.

Any problems with the PIAA bulbs being too bright? I'm one of those jerks who likes to drive around with my fogs always on....in stock form, they're not that bright. I'm worried about ****ing people off with the PIAA's though. Thougts?

Uh, they're foglights. Foglights don't blind people.

I just did the fog light and parking lights swaps with Xtreme Whites last night. I also did the fog light rewire so they'll come on with just the parking lights. Both procedures vary a little bit for 2K2's.

See a couple pics here: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....28#post1104218

The XtremeWhites match the 2K2 HID's almost perfectly, at least from a direct-oncoming view. From an offset (slightly up or to the side) the PIAA H3's (fogs) are pure white and don't have the bluish cast, and the 194's (parking) have a slightly bluer cast than the HID's.

BTW, the new bulbs give a lot more light, but are not blinding to oncoming traffic by any means. I've read a couple articles that denounce these bulbs as being no better than regular halogen bulbs yet more annoying to other drivers. I checked out my car from all angles and did not find them annoying, yet I was able to drive on a dark road just fine with the fogs/parking lights only (when I did light up the HIDs as well, everything filled in sooooo nicely!).

One other thing -- when you're taking apart the fog light housing to replace the bulbs, there is a little screw that holds down a retainer spring. When you loosen that screw and remove the spring, RETIGHTEN the screw before removing the bulb. I didn't on the first side and the little screw fell down inside the reflector housing and got lodged between the reflector and the glass inside the housing. I eventually fished it out with a magnetized screw driver. D'OH!

Uh, perhaps you've never had an SUV with fog lights come at you...or some civic with catz pointed too high. Perhaps it would explain why it is illegal to drive with your fog lights on in NY...and some other states.

Is this the bulb that best matches the HID xenon lights of the 2k2? Will it fit the 2k2? I suppose I could go out to my car and look in the manual..just lazy right now!

I bought the Xtreme H4s from optauto and they both burnt out on the same day less than 4 months from purchase. It's been over a month since I sent them back and have still not heard/received anything from them. Every time I call either the line is busy or someone that doesn't speak english very well answers and then hangs up on me.

I also bought the ion yellow H3s from them and haven't had any problems.

No. It is yellowish on the road in front of you. It looks light-greenish to oncoming traffic, and the closer they get it changes color from white, blue, etc. They're kinda cool. I now have Eaglite Xenons in both headlights and foglights, though.

all y'all talkin about the lights seems like it's just for matching the 2k2 HId's. I got a 2k and i'm tired of the punk a$$ fogs that came w/ it. Want something white or close to it but brighter. what do y'all suggest?
