I'm on the highway...in the left lane cruising @ 75...a "last generation" Celica GT-S (white w/ the hood scoop)comes blasting up from behind me...I try to move over, but he swings around me before I can do anything, and glares at me as he passes. So I figure, it's clear ahead, I'll have some fun...punch it, and catch up to him by the time I reach 100...pull along side him and slow to his speed (~90).
He looks over, and trys to pull away...I floor it again...I get one car ahead by 110...by 120 I'm 3 cars ahead...and about 8-10 ahead by 130...he then flashed his brights at me and moved into the right lane and slowed to 75 (what I slowed down to after the run...and he didn't even come up to me). We went like this for about 8-10 more miles, and I was fully expecting him to pull a rice-boy fly-by, but he didn't...just sat back there behind me and then he turned off...I think he was embarrassed.

I'm pretty sure the ones with hoodscoops are GT-Fours. The are all wheel drive turbo celicas. With a 200hp 4cylinder engine from the Turbo MR2. Good kill.

Odd...I've had no probs getting it up...

to 120+...I've had it pegged on the pin at 140(+) on many occasions. It doesn't pull that hard after 120, even w/ the O/D off, and the door seals tend to "pop & flutter" at 125 as well (annoying as hell), but it's always got up there if I needed it.

I know there is a speed limiter on the GXE's that do NOT have the security & convenience package, so maybe that's what MZMTG is running up against (???). The way it was explained to me earlier was that the S&C package equipped the car w/ "H" speed (130mph)rated tires from the factory, so they removed the speed limiter; and the ones w/out the S&C package came w/ the (112mph) "T" rated tires, so the limiter remained so you didn't drive much over their rated speed and blow them.
