Maxiam Exaust

I realy like my new to me 87 Maxima wagon, however be a true car guy it seems to be to quiet and what looks to be a Midas special muffer cant be good for perfomace. Does anybody know where I can get a more perfomace oriented exuast system for it. Have dyomax systems on my 88 Z and 87 VG30 powered PU but did not see anything listed for Maximas

For the Max, there seems only one pre-fabbed kit, from Pace Setter (find it at JC-Whitney). However, everything I've looked up shows it to be basically a muffler only. There is a center pipe in the exhaust, but it costs almost $100 by itself.

I've been wanting to get a nice, custom exhaust bent for the car, using a decent turbo-style muffler (maybe DynoMax or FlowMaster). I think that, by removing the resonator in the factory style center pipe, and using a nice turbo muffler, the engine should produce a nice, throaty growl, rather than the buzz-can sound of the all the ricer perf mufflers...

I have that Pacesetter exhuast on my car. It's a 2.5" catback system with mandrel bent pipes. It's got 2 pipes coming out of the muffler like the 87-88's do. It looks fairly stock, but I have noticed a nice increase in horsepower in addition to the fact that it sounds pretty bad ***. It's got a nice deep sound to it, not too loud either. I'd stay away from those big *** fart cans, they're just plain ugly, especially on an older Maxima. And don't get anything that's going to make your car sound like a lawnmower on steriods.
