Where do the 3 cables on the positive terminal go?

Where do the 3 cables on the positive terminal go?
Just wondering exactly what the purpose of having 3 discreet cables coming off the battery terminal is. Also, where do each of them go?

The thicker of the three cables (4 gauge) is connected to the starter solenoid. The other two smaller ones that are clipped in both run to the fuse box located right next to the battery.
