Air Conditioning Broke

I can't believe it, my car is been running pretty good up until today. I went to do my laundry, and then i went home. i had my ex in the car who was dead tired from working all morning. So, she wanted to stay in the car but was freezing, so I turned down the A/C and went into the house to put the clothes up. I came back outside after 15 mins, and got in the car. i was like hot damn its hot in here. I checked the A/C and it was on but no air was coming out the vents. Of course my girl was still knocked out so she wasn't paying attention. I was like....."oh no". I played with all the buttons, even made sure I was doing the right thing but of course I was. So now im screwed, its gonna be hot all week, and have no cool air to circulate in my car while i make my runs. OH GOD WHY ME!!!!!!!!!

Is it just the fan that quit on ya? Does only setting 4 blow air? If so then it's just your resistor pack that went. It's like 20 bucks at Nissan and very simple to replace. It effects fan speeds 1,2,and 3 4 works because it bypasses the resistors.

Check the fuses as well. Might be something simple ya know.

Re: Air Conditioning Broke

had the same problem with my '95 GLE. I turned the auto control to economy and then tried going back to auto later and the damn thing did not work. I once read that you are not suppose to run the control pad at a higher temp than outside air. it some how messes with the auto contoller. just to let you know, i stopped for gas and got a bite to eat and the car threw cold air after sitting for about 10 minutes.
What exactly did you do when you left her in the car? turn auto controller to a higher temp or place in economy?

Re: Re: Re: Air Conditioning Broke

you are right, ex's are evil and often the cause of a lot of problems. have you tried the A/C since you first noticed the problem. if so, take it to the shop and have them pressurize the system to check for leaks. if there are no leaks, the compressor may have taken a $hit. if this is the case i would try a salvage yard before buying a new one from nissan. good luck.......
