headlight problems...please help

Hey, I have a 96 SE and just the other night i was driving and my right foglight and left headlight both went out. Now my high beam light stays on and even with my high beams on i can turn my foglights on and off (which i normally couldnt do). I had an extra headlight bulb so i went to replace it but when i took it out the plug of the wiring that goes into the bulb was burnt and there was melted plastic. do you think i have major wiring problems or is it something easier. Thanx for any help.

Are you using OEm bulbs or aftermarket?

You've described the symptoms of using a bulb with too high of a wattage.

If using a bulb of high wattage does that.. when i clip off the lil nub on the bulbs of the corner headlights... will it burn like that? cuz it makes the light brighter.. cuzing more wattage.. correct?

No, you are still only pushing 27 watts. It is the 100 watt and over headlight bulbs that cause problems.
