Seriously considering supercharger -- is this everything I need?

I'm really considering going supercharged eventually. I've been reading a lot of threads on SCs and I've compiled a list of everything that I should need to SC my car.
  • [*]
  • [*]
  • [*]
  • [*]
  • [*]
  • [*]
  • [*]
  • [*]
  • [*]

Is there anything else I would need? I'm trying to determine the cost of this entire project so I can see if my budget will eventually allow for it.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me, because I don't have much knowledge in this field.

I don't have an S/C, but I'm pretty sure you'll also need and upgraded fuel pump since the S/C will be require, well, more fuel.

Re: Seriously considering supercharger -- is this everything I need?

Here's some answers for you:
[*]Blow off Valve
The kit comes with the plastic Bosch recirculating bov. I replaced mine with the Blitz dual drive BOV.
[*]Valve Body Recalibration (Since I'm auto )
It's a requirement!
[*]Tranny Cooler
Another requirement!
[*]Oil Cooler? (Not sure if I need one of these)
Not a requirement...nice to have though...
[*]Boost and A/F Gauges
A requirement but my Max doesn't have any gauges installed at the moment.
[*]Upgraded Fuel Management System (SAFC)? Not sure if I need one of these either.
The kit comes with a Vortech auxiliary fuel pump and a Hobbs switch. Some pple are using a Walbro pump.
[*]Intercooler? Do I need an intercooler?
Nice to have but not necessary unless you are going for more boost.
Some ppl have custom made ones or ones taken off of a wrecked Volvo.

OT: Hey BlackCat - On the nwnissan site it says your car is a 3rd Gen! (They say it's a "93 Maxima")

You would probably want to upgrade all your exhaust components.

I have to agree with Nickstam on this one, you will need a complete exhaust system upgrade especially since you want to go with the 3.25 pulley!!you should boost 10PSI thats what I am getting.

Definitely get the...

I'd go for the turbo over the SC. you can seriously gain so much more performance with the simple turn of a dial. SC you have to use other sizes of pulleys.

If any turbo group deals are coming to soon i would like on that deal too! Seriously get the turbo though!

About the turbo... Since he is an auto, wouldn't he have to do a 5spd swap also? Like, I have heard somewhere on these boards that the turbo kit is only for 5spds so far.

At this point in time its only for 5spds. Last I read the turbo for autos is still in development.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. If I do get the supercharger, then it will be down the road. I'll have my exhaust done by then, and I'm still not sure what size pulley I want to use. If a Turbo ever comes out for the Auto, then maybe I'll go for that.

Later,
-Nick

OK guys...I think this is what I'm going to get eventually:
  • Stillen/Vortech V2 Supercharger ($3400 new from Avalon Racing)
  • 3.33" Supercharger Pulley (I decided that the 3.25" might be a little extreme. Where can I buy the smaller pulleys?)
  • Blitz Dual Drive BOV (Seems like most people are going with the Blitz BOVs. It's $199 new from Avalon Racing.)
  • Mobiletek VB Recalibration ($450 and a requirement for an SC Auto Maxima.)
  • Hayden 1404 Tranny Cooler ($40 from Mobiletek Racing...I think it will definately be worth it.)
  • Perma-Cool Oil Cooler (Just for the heck of it, I think I'll get the oil cooler. Where can I get one of these? I decided that Stillen probably charges too much for theirs, so I'll go with Perma-Cool..)
  • A'PEXi S-AFC ($339 from Phuong @ GR Racing)
  • A'PEXi EL Boost Gauge ($136 from Phuong @ GR Racing)
  • Tomei Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge (Haven't been able to find this yet...where can I get it?)
  • Autometer Pillar Pod ($28 from Custom Maxima.)
  • A'PEXi Rev/Speed Meter ($249 from Phuong @ GR Racing)

Can anyone tell me if these prices are reasonable? Also, for the few things that I don't have prices listed, tell me where to get them because I'm looking for good prices.

Thanks,
-Nick
