Best Handling Springs?

I'm looking forward to making my Max handle like a beast. I got FSTB and RSB, and I'm going to get Stage II Subframe Connectors. Now, what springs supposedly handle the best, Sprints or Eibachs? Coilovers aren't an option.

What are these "stage II" subframe connectors you are talking about?

Go to warpseedperformance.com and check out the subframe connectors they have for our 4th-gen maxes....Supposed to really stiffen the chassis up.

Anyway guys...So what is it? What handles better, sprints or eibachs?? Need more responses.

Go with the Sprints.

I had the Eibachs first and they were okay. They handled well but I like the feel of the Sprints better. Also, with the Eibachs people were always asking me, "So when are you gonna lower that thing?". I don't get that with the Sprints on there. Sprints are also about half the price. Look for max8mycash (sp?) on here. He can get them for cheap.

I just got my Eibachs installed and I really dig them. I have never rode in anything besides stock so I am not much use in a comparison, but I still love my Eibies. The look is just right for me....not completely slammed, but still low and stiff enough to give a great ride.

I've had three different suspension setups...not including stock.

Sprint Springs & Koni Struts

Stiff, but great handling.

Handling: 2nd
Look: 2nd
Harshness: 3rd (that being the worst)

Eibach Springs & Stock Struts

Smooth ride, with a very noticable handling improvement over stock.

Handling: 3rd
Look: 3rd
Harshness: 1st

Ground Control Coilovers & AGX's

Adjustable ride height and struts are nice. You can make the car handle the way you desire.

Handling: 1st
Look: 1st
Harshness: 2nd

And there you have it, my mini suspension review.

Both are very performance oriented. What type of racing or performance are you looking for? Why not the Cattman or JIC's if you're real serious?

IIRC there were two versions of Eibach springs. THe second Generation ones were a lot lower then the first gen ones. I think the lowering is noticable with Eibachs, maybe subtle, but definately noticable.

Yeah, I'm getting sprints for the great look , plus handling. But don't forget to consider what wheels u'll be driving with and how their size and weight will affect look and handling. But max8mycash is selling them for $129 + shipping. He is from southwestautoworks.com.

A: Because coilovers are much more expensive and I heard the ride was hideous for the everyday driver. I'm looking for the best performance-oriented spring that I can deal with everyday, so I limited it to sprint and eibach. As far as performance, I just want to be able to handle the best I can around the track and on the street.

A: Interesting...So sprints rode worse than coilovers? I didn't know they were that rough. How much rougher were sprints than eibachs and coilovers? Do you think that it's too rough for an everyday driver?

It depends on where you live. I live in a surburban area, and do a lot of highway driving, so they weren't too bad. But when I went into the city (Buffalo) or other cities with bad roads (Baltimore sticks out!) then they are too much for me to deal with. I couldn't have done that every day.

i would tell you to go with the eibachs or apex, with them i would also install a set of agx. this is a great set up and you don't get that funny bounce that you get with other springs.
