VE T.B. Bypass causing overheating ?

What's up guys, well I did the by pass yesterday morning and got through it, Then later on in the day I was waiting outside of my house and saw the needle creep up all the way to "H".....I was wondering if the bypass effected it in anyway?...? I redid it and it didn't over heat, so im guessing it somehow caused it to over heat......any input would be appreciated, Thanks in advance

Did you replace the coolant you may have lost while doing the by-pass?

are you SURE you got all the air out of the system?
common thing on the VGs to get an air pocket in the engine where the temp sensor is, and the temp gauge in the car goes sky-high- even though the engine is still running fine and temps are under control.

that's why you need to bleed the air from the system when you open it up.

How did you do it? I did this the other day but did it a little different. I had all the stuff off around there because I was working on something else and when I was hooking the hose back up I noticed that the hose was long enough to just pull around and connect to the outlet of the IAC which bypassed the tb. The way I did it I didnt need a pipe in between the 2 hoses. This may be the way its done by most people because I never researched it but remember reading about someone getting a small tube to connect the hoses together.

Yes, I connected it using a copper tube. Your idea is very interesting, It should be able to connect straight to the other inlet. Thanks a lot for the info, I will try this tomorrow.

I just read my post again and it sounded kinda confusing so to clear it up for anyone else that reads this thread I will explain.

there is a hose that goes from the iac valve to the t.b. and then their is a hose that comes out the other side of the t.b. to the motor. I took the hose off of the outlet of the t.b. and moved it over to the outlet of the iac valve(after taking the hose off that leads to the t.b.). That bypassed the t.b. without any need for a tube. I double checked to make sure the hose wasnt crimped when I did this and just checked again and everything is fine.
