Couple of questions for install of NX kit

I am installing the NX kit tomorow. The wiring diagram looks to be straight forward.

I have two questions:

I am going to use an in cabin nitrous pressure gauge. How do you tap the line to get a pressure reading.

Run the line in the cabin (don't really want to do this but it seems to be the only way)?

I also need to tap into the fuel line for my fuel pressure gauge and for the fuel solenoid. I am guessing I will need two tees. I saw Matt's write up on how to tap it but two tees is the only way that i can think of.

If any of you could provide me with some tips I would appreciate.

BTW, I am installing tomorrow, Sunday.

Re: Couple of questions for install of NX kit

It is easier to install one tee in the fuel line then run another tee from that one for the gauge, I also had another tee for the low fuel pressure control. It starts to look like an octopus after a while. Try and keep it as simple as possible.

I installed the tee for the pressure gauge under the hood just before the nitrous solenoid but depends on how long your line is.

Jime:

How did you run your line for the fuel solenoid and the line for the FP gauge off of one tee.

I am not understanding how you set it up.

Dave what I meant was to tee off of the first tee etc. I put mine between the filter outlet and the line to the fuel rail. There is not much room so tee in then go vertically with the others. I have 3, one for the nitrous, one for the gauge and the other for the fuel cut off switch. Put it all together first then cut into the fuel line its much easier than trying to put it all together after you put the first tee in.

Damm I wish I had a picture. Also make sure you use fuel line clamps don't use those cheap 29 cent ones, they can cut your line and cause small leaks. I did post a pic of the bad one on here a few months ago that caused a fire but can't find it now.

Well, I did not install this last week. There were a few additional items I needed to get.

Here are a list of some of the accessories I needed. I ordered these from www.Jegs.com.

If you are running gauges with the NX wet kit fogger for the Maxima, you will need some miscellaneous items.

I am posting the part numbers to hopefully save someone else time in the future. I am running an EGT, Full sweep Fuel pressure and Mechanical Nitrous pressure gauge with my setup.

I will also be installing a window switch because I have the MEVI and at times will be manually shifting to get the full effect of the MEVI.

NX Part Numbers
#15513 $32.00

#16109

#11112 $23.99
12" line, Steel Braided blue ends, teflon lined - used to run tee of bootle

#11114 $44.99
12' line, Steel Braided blue, teflon lined - used to run to Nitrous Pressure Gauge

#15600 $100.99
NX purge valve, NOS brand cannot be used with the NX kit

NOS Part numbers

Adapter

#16770 (2) $11.95

Need (2) 1/8" to -4AN adapter for the Adapter to fit on the bottle and for tapping into the fuel line.

The fuel line tees were made using fittings and fuel line hose. I got the description from a post by MardigrasMax. He lists exactly what is needed in a post here on the .org.

A friend will be helping me with the install.

All switches are being mounted in the glove box. EGT and FP are on an A pillar and Nitrous and tranny temp gauges are also in the glove box.

Actually you can use the NOS purge with the NX kit. I have installed in the pic below. It is a NOS purge valve with an NX Decal, can't have NOS showing anywhere.

Remember that NX installs the purge on the outlet of the nitrous solenoid so it cools nitrous right through the valve, vs NOS which puts it before. NX has an extra port on the solenoid valve for this provision.

Learn something new every day, thanks Jim. I spoke to a couple people and I was told otherwise but I certainly respect your esperience.

BTW, how the hell did you lean out your engine....bad fuel pump, lean conditions...??????????

Running your tank too low can have disastrous consequences. Don't take your eyes off of the fuel pressure gauge.
