1 Step Colder Gap setting question
Just got my NGK-BKR6E11 set from summit racing and I want to know what gap I need. I know the rule of thumb is to decrease gap size by .004 per 50 hp so I guess I need to know
1) Factory gap for NGK-BKR6E11
2) Gap size I need for the following mods: Intake, UDP, Y Pipe, Cat-back exhaust + I plan to run 50-70 shot dry.
Per MardisGrasMax's write-up, I'm going to take a wild stab and say I should decrease gap by .008

The stock gap is .043 or 1.1mm, hence the 11 in the part number. You want to decrease the gap .004 for every 50 HP you add, including Y-pipe, intake, etc, so if you add a 50 shot and a Y-pipe intake, you should reduce the gap to approx .037 If you have more mods, you will have to estimate from there. Remember to check your plugs after you run nitrous to check for detonation.
Toylet, those are the same plugs you need to use.

When I putmy 1 step colder plugs in I didn't regap them. I just popped it in. Haven't had any detonation or anything so I presume I'm running fine? I'm pushing out 297fwhp with my sc. So what should I gap it to if anything..

Basically detonation is pre-ignition or the burning of the mix out of sync. It can happen due to lots of factors, one of which is timing, excessive cylinder heat/pressures, incorrect plug heat range, etc.
Detonation is what causes the most engine damage when running N2O. Imagine if the piston is on the up stroke compressing the mix and the mix is ignited....that's how broken rods and holes in the pistons occur.
