buying used ZEX kit, need advice.....

I am going to make a trip to pick up a used ZEX kit, purge valve and bottle heater for my brothers 94 accord. It's a late christmas present from me. Netiher of us know much about nitrous or have used it before. Supposedly it is only 6 months old and has everything need. What are somethings to look for to make sure it is in good working order? We are driving to pick it up to make sure it legit, and we don't even know what to look for. Any info would be appreciated.

thanks,

Mike D

Look for the following:

Long braided hose about 15 feet I think
short 2 foot braided hose,
purple metal box (Nitrous Mgmt Unit)
Bottle w/brackets,
Orange wrap around heater with wires,
Small purple screw in prong, (spray nozzle for intake)
Purge solenoid\metal hose (may need replacing due to your choice of purge loction spray)
various rubber hoses, (should be two and these will best be replaced as well

good luck and if you need info, check out www.Zex.com for their tech info and lots of good scoop...very easy system to install and run.

One thing that i didnt see thats important is your jets...Make sure there is an assortment of nitrous and fuel jets are somewhere in the kit...believe me you dont want to get home install the kit and find out you have no Jets. It would definetly be a pain in the ****.

other than that you wont know if the kit works 100% until you install it and test out the solenoids.

good luck and have fun,

Jon

75 isn't the most that is just the largest they supply with the kit, I have run up to 150 HP with the same kit. Will it shorten you engine life, sure, so will driving your car hard etc etc.

I am 55 years old and I wouldn't change my nitrous experience for anything it is the most bang for your buck anywhere. For $500 I got over a 2 sec 1/4 mile decrease.

If you want you car to last for 20 years don't do it. If you want to experience life go for the Gusto.

Just to upadate those who gave me advice.

The seller backed out. He may have been trying to pull a fast one on me. We had a price set, then I told him to forget the shipping charge and I would come pick it up. He did not realize I was only 3hrs from him. Now he says he does not want to sell it. Hmmmmmm, maybe he had nothing to sell.
That is 2 times now that a seller has backed out when I tell them I'll come pick up an item. Some people.

I was quoting NX in my statement not Zex as I stated.

However here are the sizes available from ZEX

.032 .034 .035 .036 .038 .040 .043 .046 .052 .073 .078 .082

I would also assume that Zex is like NOS for tuning the fuel. ie you don't always get the same fuel pressure for a given nozzle on a different car. Therefore you have to try it to see.
