You da man! How much of a P.I.T.A. is it to change the plugs in the back? Looks like we have to take off the intake manifold on '02s and '03s.

DUDE!
OMFG!

I changed them last week to NGKs bkr6g-II one step colder gapped to .36

You dont know how much of a PITFA it is to do!

THe fronts are simply.Typical.

The rears! Oh Man! THe middle ignition coil must come out and the throllle body is in the way. Must take it off.. 6 screws total 2 on top,2 on bottom and 2 to the side(right).

To get the the rear left ignition coil you must remove the intake manifold becuase the dam bolt wont come off. Needs only about 1/2" more! Dam japs! 5 screws for that. Just needs to be lifted about an inch, not totally taken off. I took if off cuz it was kinda cool in there

Strut bar MUST come off..if you have one.

Those 1 foot extention ratchet things are a must. 6" + 3" is ok.

Oh and, you LOVE this one!!!

The spark plug socket doesnt fit inside the chamber where the spark plug is! GRRRR
Japs are dumb!

Dont forget to put ALL the hoses back on and reconnect everything!

Good luck

It's not a big deal. The manifold comes off pretty easy. The entire job can be done in half an hour.

If you want to see a ***** try changing plugs on a Subaru boxer.

The SR20DE was about the easiest of any. I was just saying it could be alot worse. (LS1, WRX, GM 3.4DOHC X motor just to name a few)

The LS1's are definetly a fine example of a PITA spark plug job. Minivans blow too.

Uhhh, why is it a PITA to change 4th gen plugs? The plugs are right there, takes me no more then 30min to R&R them all. It is a must to have the right tools though, otherwise it is a PITA.
