I am interesting in buying the kit that jcwhitney.com sells, it is a dry kit and i have no idea on how to install it, can someone please tell me what it will involve? or how much a shop would cost to get it done? also, will i harm my engine if i use this?

Normally people would yell at you and tell you to search since this has been discussed about 3 million times...but since you can't search right now, I'll give you the quick run-down.

For the maxima, there are 3 major kinds to get: NOS brand kit #5124, NX express (don't know the part #), and Zex. There are others but those are the most popular.

Installation: about 3-4 hours if you've done it before, about 8 if its the first time, never if you're not mechanically inclined. As for a shop, depending on their per/hr labor rate, about $250-500 to install.

As for engine harm: None if used properly. What's properly? Read as many of the threads in this section, then come and ask specific questions because it is the size of a book if I give it all at once.
