Finaly first shot

Today I had my NX kit installed by Jeff at Maximum Tuning. He spent 6 hours installing everything. I had the kit jetted to a 35 shot. One can tell that the car pulls much better but one doesn't feel that pushin the chair feeling. I sprayed in first gear around 3k and just got massive wheel hop, shifted to second and had a long chirp/spin and the car pulled like crazy. While monitoring the egt gauge I saw that with N2O I was getting mid 500 C temps in second gear, while at top of third I get 650 max (My probe is one inch after the flex section). This is causing me to believe that I am running rich.

You'll get a lot wheel hop when you push out that much power. It's the problem with front wheel drive cars. Easy way to fix that is get urethane mounts. And 35 shot? Why didn't you bump it up to a 150 shot? Your probe should be a lot closer.... Should be right where the Y bend on the pipe is.. Your probably off by like 150 or so degrees. (F that is)..

I know that it reads colder this way but it shouldnt matter because I can still tell if I am running rich or lean.

What's the point of having gauges if they're not accurate. Just be careful because you're only getting part of the picture.

what you mean part, I can tell if I am running rich or lean, only draw back is that my temp reading is lower.

I agree that you can tell lean/rich in a relative sense, but you can't compare numbers with anyone else. Unless you've dynoed with a wideband you don't know what temps you are getting at specific A/F levels, so basically you're using the data you have and extrapolating.

Exactly. I will dyno soon to see how my car is.I will most likely dyno with the 75 shot and no thte 35 shot that I currently have. Do you guys think it is okay to have a 35 shot with stock platinum plugs?

manufacturers suggest you place the probe much closer, becuase you will get a more accurate reading, you would think that its ok, but you need to be able to monitor the heat closer to the exhaust manifold...

Went to the track and used a 50 shot. Ran a 14.49 @95.xx mph. I sprayed from teh line with no traction problems. Why is my trap speed so low.

sonicdust, as far as platinum's, i don't really know for sure if it really matters. however, i know a lot of people preach heavily against platinum plugs due to the thinner spark. i've got some cheap denso 1-step colder plugs i'm about to install now for a 50 shot. they were only around 1.75/plug at autozone. want the part number?

I got Dunlop Sport A2s at stock size. I launched of Idle and got no wheel spin in 1st, only wheel spin was in 1-2 shift which lasted for 2 seconds and no more traction problems. I think my trap is a little low.

It was upto pressure because the bottle heater was on for atleast 15 minutes before I raced and it was warm inside my trunk.
