I know all about FRED and the Maximizer, but they are expensive and they are not made by NX so there is no racer discount. BTW FRED stands for Phukin Ridiculous Electronic Device.

Its also hard on the solenoids because it pulses them on and off super fast to control the fuel and nitrous.

Remember I am on a budget.

I found a European company that offers something very similar for cheaper, ~$400-$450. They have a website, but I don't think it's listed. I'll check my catalog tomorrow at work.

BTW, aren't NX solenoids guaranteed for life?

Killer I got the kit yesterday and filled the bottle but going to wait until next week to install, we are moving this weekend so my wife has priorities. Should be getting my wideband next week too so going to wait unti its in to start tuning.

Ice I can get the maximiser for $500 so not much more but I got the 2 stage really though cheap because NX actually makes it. Actually NX's race director suggested the 2 stage over the maximiser. $400 is more than I paid for the complete NX kit, I wanna go fast cheap. Thats why I don't have a MEVI or VB. (Actually thats not true I just don't believe they help much)

You are right about the noids though they are guaranteed.

Actually with the addition of the VI, my nitrous dyno HP curve looked very similar to a SC dyno. Peak HP was @ ~5800rpms and stayed flat (less than 5hp dropoff) until redline. All I can say is that it's really fun on the freeway.

no i dont, I have a push button like jim. I just feel like i have more control over the car. I have the same kit as jim 20923 and will be possibly upgrading to his new setup the dual stage.
I would recommend getting the dual stage if you want some.
and one more thing, dont go cheap.

And read read read.
My car has been acting strange lately

i use the cruise control button already on the steering wheel, works perfect and no one knows it is there.
I also use the factory foglight switch to arm my system

JIME: can you share any info on the NX "racer" discount? such as what is required to get it, how much discount you get, etc? thanks..

i wish i knew an easy way to tell you.. as far as a nitrous button it was not bad, I just found a wire coming from the CC unit that got +12v when you push a button (i used the DECEL button).. that wire then goes to the rpm switch, WOT switch, and is of course ultimately controlled on/off by the "arm" switch which happens to be my factory fog switch via a relay. now as far as just going in and wiring audio controls, hmm.. if you take that unit apart, you will see it is not just quite as simple as switches, its a circuit board and thats about where you start to lose me - so i went the easy way and just found a +12v source only when the button is pushed.

busa (does that refer to Hyabusa???) I have an 02 on NX. I'm using the electronic WOT switch as my trigger. I have an RPM window switch but it's not working right because I need a relay from MSD to get it to work right. So for now the system will run whenever it's activated and I floor it. Lots of fun.

I didn't really want to show this pic because it reflects on NX workmanship and QC. However I got the 2 stage all installed and went to try it out and heard this funny sound and when I removed the nitrous line this piece of steel was sticking out the end of the line. It was about 2" long and the other end was just the same as the one you see there, nice and rounded etc. It wouldn't come out and it wouldn't go in so finally I just cut the end off the line and it came loose.

Their racing director thinks it was a piece of steel used in the manufacturing process.

Called NX a week ago Mon and they are sending me a new line plus a new jet that it damaged when it came flying out the end. Our last race is this Sunday so I don't think I will get a chance to try it out. However there is always next year.

Planning of giving the wife the 95 now that the 97 is gone and look for another promising candidate for next season.

Why is it your last race?

Promising candidate, ie another 4th gen?

Sunday is the Season Final, we are in the great white north up here and have already had a smattering of snow.

I think I will stick with what I know best. Was thinking about something else but my wise Son talked me out of it. He said "Dad you have done lots of stuff no one else has done and its worked for you, even my Talon has only hit a 12.5 with all the work and money I have done on it. People would kill for a FWD that would do 1.75 60' times. Stick with the Maxima."

So, another 4th gen I guess, maybe try an Infinity so I can have LSD if I can't find an SE. Probably get a little more carried away with lightening than the 95 GXE.
