retard timing instead of getting new plugs? is this safe?

retard timing instead of getting new plugs? is this safe?

a friend of mine said that instead of getting the colder plugs as was recommended... to advance my timing.... is this possible or safe to do??

Advancing your timing while you spray is the worst thing you can do. What you want to do is retard the timing while you spray. During NA (not spraying) advancing the timing will give you more power but while spraying it will lead to detination. Hope that makes sense.

On my mustang and lightning when I run N/A I run more timing to get
more out of the motor. But when I spray them I retard the timing. And
I also have one step colder plugs in them.
