this is a shot in the dark as to why jime thinks zex is a toy.

the simple fact that everything is controlled by this box means that this one box is also limiting my ability to upgrade or change my nitrous kit to put out more hp.

i personally do not like zex kits either.

NO...the fuel and nitrous solenoid are in the same box, which makes it easier for installation, i am getting the zex kit with a 50 75 and 100 shot, the jets CAN be changed

yes i know you can change the jets. ive installed a few zex kits before.
and notice i said "LIMITING".

how would you set up a dual stage system???

what if you needed a solenoids nitrous/fuel that can handle bigger nitrous sytems???

direct ports sytems????

if you wanted a progressive system how would you do that????

what i said in my first post was my personal opinion. i have given it some thought before. you can still run different setups with the zex box. but to me it was not desighned to do these things. there will probably be something you can't do. but as a basic kit it does serve its purpose.

see that i dont really understand...im not planning on running a 10 second car or even a 12 ....i just want it to be a chanllenge...i think a 65-100 shot on a zex can do just as much as any other kit with the same jets.....my freind has run zex on his acura tl and has not had any problems with it...thats the only reason i ask why u think its a toy...but i guess its personal opinion...thanks anyway

for someone like you that is not to ambisious yes a zex is perfect.

for me i know i will keep on wanting more so zex is not a good route. thats why i don't like the zex kits.

like i said i took a shot in the dark for what jime was thinking i may be completely off though. maybe jime will give a reason why he thinks its a toy.

Don't mind me I was just being sarcastic as usual. I just find it hard to take Zex seriously because they are so pretty.

Actually I did help do an install last year for Zex kit and it worked fine.

Besides as you know I am pro wet and NX. That don't mean the others don't work ok, its just my preference.

I guess thats a close as I get to appologizing, sorry.

I helped a friend install a Zex dry kit, and I've also helped another friend install a NOS wet kit. I agree that the Zex kit is just a toy because you don't really need to do much to install it. you place your bottle, run the line, run the switch, place the box and you're set. you don't have to worry about wiring anthing else. Its made for the people who just want extra HP without thinking. That being said, I recently purchased the above mentioned Zex kit that I helped install because I'm still fairly new to engine mods & performace and wanted to see a quick performance upgrade without spending too much $$ and without thinking too much
So my theory is if you want to do it quick, go with a Zex dry kit, if you want to do it so you have more control over it, go with a nice NX or Nos Wet or DP injection kit.

Thats my 0.02

ambisious i think trying a 100 shot on a maxima is ambisious enough...the car is not that reliable to spend all that money into it...if someday i have a better car then maybe ill be as ambisious as you and try the NX kit....thanks anyway

I agree with Jime that the Zex is a toy because the kit capacities are pretty low, even below the NOS dry kits. However they do work just fine and are probably the easiest to install because they're self contained for the most part. And the other kits don't read TPS voltage for WOT like the Zex does.
