I dont understand

I like the way it looks when someone has a purge kit, but I dont understand why you have to have NOS installed on your car just to get a puge kit or that look. can some one help me understand

Purge kit is just a solenoid and a few hoses to plumb it into an existing nitrous kit. A full Nitrous kit has the bottle, hoses and all the controls needed to safely operate nitrous.

If you're a lazy poseur/riceboy and it appears you are, it's easiest to accomplish the look by purchasing a regular nitrous kit and just dump it in the air. You waste nitrous, your money and still get your *** handed to you racing.

The cheapest kit you can probably find is a NX n'tercooler sprayer since that one has simple on/off relay instead of fuel pressure safety and WOT switches the full kits have. Get some steel line and boom you have a purge without all that pesky added horsepower.

I have seen it done too often on the show circuit so it's not exactly impressive anymore. I'm pretty sure at least half of all N20 kits are just place holders to make believe the cars have some performance to offset too much bodykit and lead weight wheels.

The real reason for a purge kit is to clear the lines of air, and introduce fresh nitrous to the engine right before a race. Real racers know that when you do your burnout, that will purge the line all you need. If however, you are on the street, at a light, you can't very well do a huge burnout to get ready to run the guy next to you. So you can purge the kit, and get ready to run. You are only supposed to hold the purge until you see a white mist start to flow. As long as the spray coming out of the line is clear, you are getting regular air, or stale N20 that has been sitting in the line for awhile. If you keep your bottle open 24/7, the line usually doesn't need to be purged. I have a purge kit, but I haven't used it since the second week I installed my NOS kit.

Yes, but it's going to cost you almost as much as a regular nitrous kit. The expensive stuff, ie the bottle, lines, solenoids, and switches will have to be bought. Why not just get a full kit and add the purge to that? It's no harder to install, and at least you'll have the ability to go fast instead of just faking it.

Yes, get a big wing and some altezzas to go with it.

Maybe you could also hook up some type of air-pump to a blow-off valve?
