this comes from www.zex.com: Q: Is it OK to use a nitrous system on a high mileage engine? A: It is OK only if the engine is in good mechanical condition. The primary concern is to ensure that the engine does not consume excessive oil. Oil in the combustion chamber can cause detonation.

Brentwood, NY huh. I live by there. Anyway, N2O is safe when used with the right equipment, installed correctly & used the right way. If it wasn't safe the NHRA would not use it. Not to mention they go with like a 200+shot of nitrous running on alcohol.

You watch to many movies user name! He probably has not used nitrous before, Its worth it! LOL the likely hood of that happening isnt good. BUT you have 145,000 miles on the car so the ? is it really worth putting that much money into a car that might not run to much longer?

might not run much longer? as long as he keeps up with regular maintenance that thing will last to go over 200k miles with ot without the nitrous. my car is at 185k miles right now and I've had nitrous on my car since the end of last fall but then again i don't go crazy with it seeing as I'm still on my second bottle.

I've been running nitrous on my car for almost 3 years know. I bought it with 150k and its up to 208k now. I swapped out the motor at 187k though, because I got a pretty decent deal on one and did it just to help prevent damage. The motor was running fine though.
