Advance timing or not?

I'm looking to run a 50 or 75shot on my Cefiro...

from the stickies I've read that you need to Advance your timing... is this essential??

As my car is the JDM version of the Maxima, JWT & TS don't have anything for me.... Does this mean I can't safely run Nitrous?

I think using a US ecu isn't that plug & play as for starters the ECU harness is different

Its the exact opposite. You are not suppose to run advance timing with nitrous, this will cause your motor to blow up with a 50+shot. I sold both my TS and JWT to be able to run nitrous in my car. If u run a wet kit you should be ok with a stock ecu and fuel pump with a 50 shot. anything higher a aftermarket pump and other things are recommended.
Also read older threads you're bound to find old threads on this...

If you start to run a larger shot you may have to retard your timing, never advance with boost.

Ok sounds like I had it backwards.. How do I retard the timing then without a modified ECU due to JDM Car.

You'll need some type of device to do that, but you will probally not need to retard unless your pushing some 100+ serious HP.

Is thier a computer device or chip that you can setup when running nitrous that will retard the timing, and readjust back to normal timing when not on nitrous? without having to keep goign to the dealership for them to use the consult??

SMT-6 or 7 does this...

It has dual mapping modes, I use one mode for a street 93 octane map or flick the toggle switch and run a more aggresive fuel and timing with some race gas.

With nitrous you can tie in the map switching to the arming switch and have the SMT retard timing when nitrous is being sprayed. You can also tune your A/F with the SMT as well.

Check perfectpower.com for a local installer/tuner..Ive yet to install one of these with a nitrous setup, nor would I take that kind of liability. I would want to install something on one of my own cars first before trying on anyone elses.

From what I have read the ECU is a waste of time with nitrous, however I would be intereasted in a ECU with dual capability so that when I am running N/A I get my best performance. How easy is it to switch maps?
