Decided to purchase a nitrous kit

I've read through many pages in this section and decided to buy Zex kit. Zex kit seems to appeal to me the most. Anywho, can someone w/ the kit tell me few things? Where you bought the kit from and extra parts I might be needing as well? So far, I'm planning on buying the following:

I want to run 75 shot.
190 fuel pump
1 step colder plugs
gauges (recommendation?)
bottle warmer
remote opener

I'm sure I'm missing bunch of things so help me out here~

I bought mine from an org member. It came with the whole system including a purge kit which you might want. The only shot that came with it was a 75 shot. Looks like you've got everything covered in terms of accessories. You might want an MSD RPM Window Switch for added safety. An SAFC-II that will hold two maps where you can switch between a NA setup to the Nitrous setup.

For you gauges you might or might not want the same thing I'm getting, but I'm looking into a Nitrous Pressure Gauge, EGT Gauge, and a Fuel Pressure Gauge. All of these will be functional and used to monitor something. They are not being bought for just show.

The window switch, you can set at what RPM you want the nitrous to kick in and to prevent nitrous from spraying while shifting gears right?

If I remember correctly, you dont want to spray under 3k rpm and people generally set it so nitrous kick in between 3500 - 6000 rpm.

Right, you can set it in 100 rpm increments. I'm going to set mine to activate around 3000 rpms, and deactivate at 6200 rpms. That's going to keep you from missing a gear and spraying into the rev limiter. I've done it once, and scared the sheit out of me.

Nothing detrimental as far as I know. Car still runs fine, but it surely scared me. I don't think I was in it long enough to do damage. As soon as I realized I missed a gear, I was going into it, but let off as quick as I could. It might not have even been WOT, but it was so fast it was hard to tell. I just saw that needle jump quick. You just have to pay attention to you gauges when spraying. Redline comes up pretty quick, and with nitrous you can granny shift it to be safe, the nitrous will make up for the minut loss in time shifting.

I'm assuming you got the digital MSD window switch? I was browsing at www.summitracing.com and came across 3 MSD window switches. MSD-8956, MSD-8969, and MSD-89561. Do you know which one I need? I'm guessing the 8956?

The 8969 is far superior and doesn't require "pills" like the 8956.

read the faqs man. To summarize in one sentence, you won't blow your engine if you dont abuse nitrous, keeping everything in good shape, and use common sense.

Does it work out of the box or does it require modification like the pill version does?

It works out of the box, its Jime proof. It works on any engine from 1 cyl to 8. It can hook up to a coil, 2 cyl coil pack, MSD ignition systems, ECU etc. I connected mine to the ecu. It even has an RPM readout.

I used mine initially as a window switch then when I got the maximizer I used it as a shift light and now I am using it as a throttle control for the drive-by-wire. I take off at approx 40% throttle with a block under the pedal then at a preset RPM it goes to WOT. I am going to take it too the track tomorrow and see how it works. I am trying to make it more consistent by not losing traction out of the hole. This gizmo can be used for numerous functions.
