Is a dry nozzle a dry nozzle?

I know wet kits are very dependent on their nozzle design for proper mixing/atomization, however what about dry nozzles? What matters?

I need to replace my ZEX dry nozzle and I'm just wondering if I should get the same one or one of the numerous others out there?

Here's the ZEX nozzle:

TIA...

Also, is this ALL I need to install the nozzle in my intake tube?

Or would I need a 1/8 NPT tap, since I'm using a bulk head fitting?

I didn't use any of the fittings. You just need to drill the proper size hole, and the nozzle can screw into that. I also got a new exhaust pipe from an org member who bought it at an auto parts store and replaced the accordian piping with it. It was custom fabbed with a nozzle hole, and cut the length to specs.

BTW, stick with the Zex nozzle. It'll be fine.

Thanks....

Do you think with the dry it matters how you orient the nozzle, ie horizontal like yours or underneath for stealth?

Of course the nozzle should be pointing towards the throttle body, but orientation is clearly a personal decision. If you'd like the stealth look, you could mount it underneath. Actually you can just mount it and turn the pipe to your liking. Either way it doesn't effect the spray.

One more question...since you have a wet kit with a returnless setup that operates at ~51psi, you have to run a smaller fuel jet to not run excessively rich per ZEXs "tune-up sheet" recommendations, correct?

What fuel/N20 jet and what shot are you running?

Currently I'm only running with the jets that came with the system. My fuel jet is a 21, and the N20 jet is a 40 combine to be good for a 75 shot.

I'm soon to move up to 26 fuel/46 nitrous jets for a 100 shot. I don't know anyone currently running the Zex booster kit as a return setup. The majority just ups the fuel pump and be done with it. Because it's a wet shot the system is pretty consistant with the flow between nitrous and fuel.

I'd bet you're considerably rich then, since their recommendations are based on 3bar of fuel pressure not 3.5bar like VQ35s run.

You should dyno and either tune your jets or an AFC for probably a good bump in power.

NM...reading the instructions clearly calls out drilling a 7/16 hole.

That's my next plan, I figured my fp was too high. Trying to get a SAFC-II right now. It's kinda hard to do since I got engaged and have to put alot of money into that. But that's one of my next mods.

That's a good calculation chart to use. Thanks
