Nitrous Discuss dry, wet, and direct port nitrous setups. How many shots can you handle?

running low 12s high 11s????? how big of a shot????

running low 12s high 11s????? how big of a shot????

ok i gonna have a 95 max 5 speed gonna be a track car so no p/s, AC etc. its the basic model no roof, abs etc. taking out air bags seats etc... i was think about going 150 wet from NX.. with race fuel

what modz u guys think i should get UDP, flywheel,fuel pump,clutch, gauges EGT,FP,nitrous, purge kit, bottle warmer, plugs. ECU neva llooked into this?? im builting this car from factory not gonna be my everyday driver. about my exhast now i was think about getting this.... http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/QTEC/ good idea???

well jim does 12.1 with a 100shot so i guess 150shot should do the trick

Talk to Mardigramax he's the only one I know of in the 11's. Not exactly sure what size shot he's running. You got a turbo kit or supercharger?

nope no supercharger or turbo gonan do nitrous kit thinking about 2 stage ???


idk what size slick 2 run tho. cause iw anan drop the car but idk how low i don't wanan go 2 low so i can't fitt a big slick.. any ideas????

Last year I was running two stage kit, and you will not get to 11's without more that that. I had 80 shot 1st stage, and 150 shot second stage. With a little more practice, and time to tune, it would have been a high 12 second car. But engine failure is a b!tch.

He should be able to hit low 12s easy. If he runs 100-125 shot in first stage and 35 ontop of that once he hits 2nd on. Reason why you ran high 12s, is because you had all your power ontop and not enough below, where nitrous is best. BTW: what size slicks did you run?

It also depends on where you live and how the track is prep. For me I would never see 12's let alone 11's (and I was running 125 shot) because I'm up here in UT, elevation is a b*atch. Plus the track was never prep because of when we ran (midnight drags), we always get the track last.

that all depends. your first stage will be worthless if you can't put it to the ground efficiently and just spin all the way through your gears, in that case a relatively smaller first shot is actually more beneficial as it allows you to maintain traction while still adding power and thereby actually gaining more speed. Those are all things that have to be practiced and tuned to maximize the efficiency.

... yeah Mardi either ran a 75 shot i do beleive.. but he also has a built vq35 with a T66 turbo running like 16-18 p.s.i. Nitrous isn't exactly the only thing getting him there lol. he ran on 26 x 10.5 DRs i think.

Well I ment if he could put it to the ground. I think he would need a big slick to be able to hook up and work with our 5spd tranny gearing right.

i'd agree with what most other people would say and say that the UDP isn't worth the money and that out of that list to go along with whatever nitrous kit you chose your fuel pump, colder plugs, and bottle warmer would be the most essential things to get. Mechanical nitrous guages are fine, not absolutely essential because most heater kits have an automatic pressure limit shutoff so you don't always need to monitor the bottle pressure. If you have the money its nice to have the guage though. Purge kit necessity is questionable, it can be argued that it will help your times.. but very very minimally. If you're dealing with a lot of power, an upgraded clutch will become necessary.. just a question of how soon lol.

As for the ECU, most people running any large shot or 2 stage setup prefer to use piggyback system such as SAFCII often in combination with a progressive nitrous controller for all their tuning needs. Others use the Greddy Emange Blue system or are now experimenting with the Emanage Ultimate system.

26X10.5 Mickey Thompson slicks, the same ones that Mardigras has just run 11.4 on. They are mine, until he pays me for them.

As far as I am concerned, there is no need for a purge other than looks. The best way to purge your nitrous system is to spray when you do your burnout. It also makes sure everything is on, and working properly. It will also heat the slicks up a bit better, and spin them faster.
