Getting FREE NITROUS!
Getting FREE NITROUS!
Hey guys. My brother is going turbo on his CRX and he was wondering if I wanted his nitrous...
It's a dry system, ZEX 75 shot with a 55 nozzle.
I know that I need more parts but there are a couple upgrades that I'm not really sure what brand parts to get. If you Nitrous experts could help me out that'd be great.
Spark Plugs: ZEX Plugs are on the way so I should be ok right?
FPR: What Brand makes a decent adjustable FPR for a Maxima?
Fuel Injectors: I heard DW was good but what size is necessary. My bro said anything over 300 cc's would be fine.
Also, he suggested I get a larger nozzle but I'm unsure. I just don't want to end up blowing my motor in the end.
Last question: Is all this work/money really worth it? I know an ECU would bring me into the low 14's. but would all this additional work bring me into the mid 13's?

Yes . . .
With a 75 shot, I dont think you have to upgrade injectors, a fuel pump should be enough. But I am not possitive since im running a wet setup. Also, an ECU with advanced timing + nitrous is not a good idea.
Send the ZEX plugs back and stick with NGK copper or iridium plugs.
AEM and SARD make good AFPR that will work with the Max.
You do not need to upgrade your fuel injectors.
You should get a Walborro fuel pump.
You should get a FP gauge.
You should get a wideband A/F ratio Gauge, or at the minimum an EGT.
What upgrades are you doing to your transmission to handle the extra power?
Nothing is free.

Hey I just got same setup: Zex dry system(for free as well
) And I got a NGK colder sark plugs. Running 55 shot for now. Want to get 65. As far as fule pump and FPR, you dont need it as long as you dont go over 70 shots. Sucks to be in WA, its cold and I dont have a heater for botle. O and I am not shure, but you have to lower you timing by 2 degree. And after you ran for 1st time check ALL of you spark plugs( if you run reach or lean)
I hava a 97 5sp.

Okay, plug order has been canceled. Iridium on its way. Pricey little suckas.
Are you sure about the injectors? Wouldn't I be safer running 300+ or does it not matter with this small of a shot?
I've was looking at the Ebay's 255 lph walbro fuel pump. Would this be good enough?
For tranny I was thinking an exedy stage II clutch kit. Does anyone know if the 5th gen setup would be able to handle the shot properly?
I figured i would have to retard the timing a little. Can I get a confirmation on this from other nitrous'd orgers?
You DO NOT have to lower your timing. You also do not need new fuel injectors. The dry kits work by bumping up your stock fuel pressure in order to provide the extra fuel needed when running nitrous. This amount is carefully metered, and messing with it can cause you to run too rich or too lean. You would also need a way of controlling the larger fuel injectors, they are not plug and play. Do not buy the excedy clutch, in my experience, they are crap. If your not using a bottle heater, you will not get the proper power out of the system. The 255lph pump is fine, you may be able to get away with the 190lph, depending on how big a shot you plan on running. If you get the 255, you should get an AFPR, or you base fuel pressure will run a little too high.
