where to buy, direct port

im been looking at many different 50-75shot setups, i figured a direct port, while the most $$$ would be the best. but everywhere i look only has 4 or 8 cylinder kits, wheres the best place to buy a6cly one, im not too brand specific, and i figured yall knew more than i do, so any info would be awesome

Any direct port kit for a shot as small as 50-75 is going to be a little harder to put together, parts-wise. I know at least one .orger has a direct port setup with jets that he has calculated should be giving him around a 75 shot. IMHO if your intentions are to start spraying around a 50-75 shot, and even eventually go up around 100-125 just stick with a single nozzle kit. It has been proven time and time again to be just as safe and equally effective and much cheaper and easier.

On the other hand, direct port is pretty sweet. If you're pretty set on going the direct port route, you can start with a 4cyl direct port kit and get a 6cyl distributor block, the additional fuel and nitrous pipings and fittings and go from there - I looked into doing this myself, but I think I'm going to stick with a single nozzle wet kit for at least another season at the track. Installation of course isn't as easy with a direct port set-up either. But either way with whatever you chose, good luck!

i figured a direct would give a much more even delievry. but if u say a single jet wet is just as good, then i guess ill just go with one of those.

nother q then

if i go single nozzle id prob want a dual stage, i think with a vais it would work better thna just on and off. does that make sence, or would i just be spending more money that i dont need to?

btw i dont plan on being cheap with this, i know how dangerous this stuff can be, id rather do it right the first tiem, i still have to get nitrous for my other car, but that one has to be direct port due to the design of the im.

even delivery was one of my main concerns when i first looked into getting a nitrous kit on my car as well, logic would lead you to beleive that the clyinders furthest away from the nozzel might be skimped on extra fuel delivery and run lean, however this has never been a problem with our intake manifold system and a single nozzle setup has worked very well for many people from 75 shots on up to 150. If you're really into the direct port idea though, and have the money to do it, I say go for it because being different is always cool..

Dual stage is a good idea if you ever want to get any traction at all out of the hole. NX has a dual stage single nozzle kit that has had good things said about it by many users. I started this thread when I was considering all of this stuff http://www.forums.maxima.org/showthr...ght=dual+stage hopefully it may be of some use to you as well! Good luck!

Mine works pretty good - 13.71 / 101.2 / 2.03-60' this season, and faster last year. I'm still working on launching and tire-spin through 2nd gear, but right now it'a a 50-shot on WOT and the 2nd stage is 75-shot from a floor switch, which I stomp on after the auto shifts into 2nd gear.

Do you have one or two intake manifolds?

Me ? Just one. A MEVI. With a MSD controller in charge. Two NX nozzles, though.

Nope, no puddling, no intake pops, just spray and pray. With the MEVI, the motor revs so quickly in first that the auto shifts just before fuel-cut.

50-shot on launch, the second stage set at whatever you think you can get away with. I have sprayed a combined 150-shot, but plugs melted at that level.

I'm now using Sunoco 104 (from a can) and shaved-ground 2-step colder plugs and have no signs of detonation or preignition so far this year. Futzing around with NX-recommended jet sizes cost me two engines last year. Stupid can be expensive.

I really like the 2-stage NX setup. It's really two sets of solenoids, relays, hoses, shark nozzles, and a pile of jets. One feed line from the bottle and a Y-connection to the solenoids, with the usual fuel lines. You can easily control the second stage with a foot switch - if you're automatic.
