Crankshaft position sensor??

I was out testing my spray and all was fine. I come to a stop and the car starts to misfire?? Anyway I make it home and the code I got was for crankshaft position sensor(reference). How would the nitrous make this go bad? or was it just a coincidence?

Luckily I have one and I'll be replacing it and my plugs tomorrow and hope that's it. :fingerscrossed:

Problem solved. I would still like to know how nitrous would cause a crankshaft position sensor to go bad?? Anyway my nitrous project is still a go!

Well I went out again and did some more testing and everything was fine until today I go start the car and it starts to misfire again. Anybody have any ideas what this could be?? I don't have any cel's yet, but will probably get one soon.

I am really getting frustrated with this and am about to say "F" the whole nitrous thing.

Where at? The harness near the sensor is wrapped in that plastic covering stuff.
This is going to be a real pain I can tell. Thanks for the advice

Did you ever check your plugs and coils, I remember you saying that the car was misfiring when you would rev it around 7k, if this is the case and you maybe getting enough spark for normal driving but if the spark is weak it will cause you to misfire

My car was misfiring couple months ago but it was just a dirty connection to the coil. I just cleaned the connection and plug and it was fine

Also I do not know what shot you are running but if your gaps on the plugs are too big the nitrous will just blow them out

Good luck

I just replaced the plugs after it started doing it the first time and it's still doing it. I definitely think it is a coil but I have no codes. I think thats because its intermittent, it doesn't do it all the time, but I am definitely running one cylinder short because you can really tell on acceleration.

btw I might be picking up a 92 se-r in the meantime. sr20de+a big fat shot of juice!

I did not get a code either, but I could hear and smell it even at idle, do the easy and free things 1st check all related connections make sure everything it clean and tight then test your coils, battery and alternator if you are not getting the proper voltage things will not work correctly may sound silly but sometimes it's that easy

also does this only happen when you spray. I have a extra front and rear coil if you want to test them or you can get 1 at the junkyard for like 20bucks at the most
