No worries, I may leave the all-motor group eventually after the 3.5 swap, but if I do it'll be boost not juice.

Hopefully I'll get some nice good fall weather and low DA's. When I ran the 13.0 it was around +1500.. -1500 would be nice! But I think the DEK will do 12's more easily than the other engine, seeing as it's no longer stock...

Nice to see you going for some quicker times. You should ask Maxmaxima91 for some tubular manifolds next

Yes I do plan on still making the spacer kit for the 4th gen. I already have everything lined up so I can get the UIM and LIM at the South Florida Maxima Group Meet on Sept 29th.

During the transition the org recently went through, my vendor status PM inbox capacity was drastically reduced. So I had to delete a lot of PMs in order to send and receive PMs. The problem should be fixed now.

Thanks for the offer. But I'm ok as far as the intake manifolds are concerned. I am currently looking for a 4th gen test vehicle in Eastern NC. I haven't posted about it yet in the regionals.

I made a video yesterday with my 75 shot.

http://www.nwpengineering.com/videos.html

It's the first one at the top of the page.

I engaged the nitrous and then rolled on the gas until I reached 25mph, then I went WOT and it sprayed. It immediately spun the tires lightly through 1st gear. I need to get on some nice pavement so you hear the tires spinning. That would make for a better video.

Nice job on the car Aaron, I have been away for awhile. Glad to see you picked up the dynotune kit. I am also starting to see I need some slicks, I was trapping 103 on stock tires with a 75 shot

I bet 1st gear is REALLY useless on your car at the track! You probably spin a little in the low part of 2nd gear, don't you?

Oh, so you were able to engage the nitrous in the top of 1st gear? Or did you have to wait until 2nd gear?

I am BARELY able to engage the nitrous in 1st gear, but I have to wait until 25 mph before I do it on street tires or I'll completely go up in smoke.

With slicks, I'm still working on that one. lol

If you had slicks and a 1.8 or 1.9 60', which isn't too hard to get in a 5spd, you can run a low 13 second 1/4 mile run. Do some weight reduction and you are in the 12s. I'm still working on that one too.

For your entertainment, here is a video of me spraying all the way (75-shot + 75-shot). I used a Tony Hawk helmet cam, so video is pretty bad. It might play - it might not....

Aaron you are the new nitrous sniffer! How are you old friend? Yes I'm still in Vegas and loving it. I haven't been to the track this year because I need drag radials and I don't want to spend the $$$.
I like what you're doing to your car, keep up the good work!
Remember when I met you at the track and the announcer said "this driver is 62 yrs old? Will now I'll be on medicare in 2 months, damn I'm getting old.

PS Mayor Oscar Goodman is looking for you, something about a guy named Spilatro the ant.

They are just finishing up the mob trial in Chicago where they convicted a bunch of mobsters for everything including multiple murders. Remember the movie Casino when Joe Pecsi played "Tony the Ant" Spilotro and Oscar was in the movie playing himself as a mob lawyer representing Spilatro? Spilatro and his brother wound up in a shallow grave in some cornfield. These guys were convicted of his murder.

Haha! Thanks for spelling it out for me. I do remember that now.

Is Oscar getting involved in this latest case where OJ broke into a guys Vegas hotel room to steal back some of his memorabilia? That happened just a few minutes up the road from you!

I know someone that works with the judge who is handling the case.
The DA doesn't like simpson and wants to put him away for a long time.
But, you know how these cases are adjudicated and anything can happen.

I'm sure bubba & his boys are eagerly awaiting simpson at the NV state prison. OJ will have 5 boys at the same time squeezing his orange juice maker! Here they are, all five waiting with open arms.
soap on a rope that is!

Oh yeah, Oscar has been surprisingly quiet on this issue

Haha! So are you going to the track when you get drag radials? You'll probably still spin them in 2nd gear. You can't spray the nitrous too early. What jets are you running with your nitrous setup?

Me and i30krab met at the track in Las Vegas and it was his first time. He was trying to spray nitrous too soon with his street tires. So he spun the entire way down the 1/4 mile. I think he said he was spinning through 2nd gear too! It was some horrible times. I want to say something like low 15s. With a little practice, he should be able to get those 60 foots under control.

I don't know if he's been back to the track since that day. That was a LONG time ago.

I haven't been back to the track in 2 years! I don't know if I'll ever go back while my car is a daily driver. When I decide to get another ride I'll strip down the I30 and take off 500 - 600 lbs and then try for some good times.
Drag racing is too tough on a daily driver!

I still enjoy driving my car so it may be a long time. The car only has 63,000 original miles on the odometer and the motor and tranny and suspension have maybe 10,000 miles.

As long as the motor is tuned properly, drag racing isn't any harder on a motor and tranny than ragging it out on the street. In fact, going through the forward gears at the track in an automatic is much better than driving in city traffic, which involves hundreds of up and down shifts.

My car sees redline pretty much everytime I step in my daily driver. I can't help myself. Now that I have a nitrous bottle only inches away from my driver's seat, I have a constant nervous twitch. And the only perscription is more nitrous.

Hi Aaron,

I don't rag my car on the streets. lol. If I drive very conservatively I can get 16 MPG in the city. If I "rag it" I'm lucky to get 10 MPG.

I figured that was the case. If I had your car, it would see redline at least once a day.

Today, I was messing around with my car on slicks on the street. Man, I love shorter gearing. The slicks definitely give much better traction on the street than with street tires, but I still have to wait until about 20-30mph before I can spray in 1st gear.

Here is a video of the 75 shot with slicks, which is much better than my previous 75 shot video:

http://www.nwpengineering.com/videos...%200-80mph.MOV

I also locked down the front of my car to prevent is rising on the launch. It definitely makes for a harsh ride, but I should see some better 60 foots. Here is the thread about that:

Rear Drag Suspension
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=334091

I am shooting to hit the track this next Thursday. I'll keep everyone posted on my progress.

I remember spraying a 55 shot (ZEX) at a 20-roll on street tires and ended up spinning from 20MPH to 120MPH. Yes.. I spun through most of first, second, third and a little ways of fourth. I've played around on D/Rs and the traction difference is HUGE. With a 75 shot I've been able to hook from a 40 roll. But anything less then that it's difficult. Damn 3.5s and their love for making tons of torque with nitrous! For now I've ditched the ZEX and I'm starting to build up on a Nitrous Express Kit.

DEFINITELY get a nitrous filter. Since the 3.5s filter is built into the fuel pump assembly, for reassurance I bought two NOS/Holley Nitrous Filters and had them filtering right before the solenoids. Better safe then sorry.

I've played around on D/Rs and the traction difference is HUGE. With a 75 shot I've been able to hook from a 40 roll. But anything less then that it's difficult. That's pretty nuts. With the 75 shot, I am not coming close to breaking traction in 2nd gear. My 2nd gear stretches to above 80mph. Since it's such a long gear, it's easy to get traction.

I have a 300zx fuel filter, which is brand new. I never let more than 25K miles go by without changing my fuel filter. Now that I have nitrous, I will probably change it much sooner. But it's not a big deal if the fuel solenoid gets stuck open by debris in the plunger. The big deal is if the nitrous solenoid gets stuck open b/c of debris. That's why it's a good thing to inspect the teflon seal every so often. Also, a nitrous filter is a must I think.

I'm still in the process of finding a nice Air/Fuel Ratio Safety Cutoff Switch for my nitrous just in case if the fuel jet ever gets clogged or my nitrous solenoid gets stuck open. Dynotune is in the process of making them right now.

Also, my nitrous filter screws right into my nitrous solenoid. After going through a couple 10lb bottles, I removed the filter and looked at it to find that it's still brand new. I couldn't find any debris at all in the filter.
