Nitrous Turbo Meth 3.5

I am bored, and the nitrous forum is a little slow, so wanted to postwh0re a little bit lol.

Might be coming up on a nice dry kit very soon, which means all ya'll are going down!!!

I will be starting off with a 25 or 35shot spraying from idle (WOT obviously). I might be using the Suprastic as my WOT switch since it has one built in, then use the Emanage auxilery output as another reference so that the nitrous can spray from idle (WOT) to 10psi, then shut off. When ever im in WOT and boost is below 10 it will spray. My meth comes on at about 7psi or so, so once the nitrous combines with the meth in those last few psi its going to spool even faster.

I will be using a dry shot, no if's or but's, already determined to use dry. More peace of mind and much simpler setup. I hate dealing with fuel lines, and already have to many T's on there lol.

The nitrous is going to be for track only, so I will have a separate map that will be rich from idle to 10psi, and after 10psi ill have my same street tune. I'll probably add like 10 or 15% duty cycle.

I cant wait!!!

comments?

Why not now while the car is running fine encase you run into problems with the tune at the track with the new setup

I dont really think that you need the nitrous. Just do a 2step.

Well the only thing new will be the nitrous and if I'm having issue with the nitrous tune I just load the street tune and turn off the nitrous. I don't wanna go now because it will be a waste, if I get a 13 sec slip I'm going to be mad. So ill go when I know it can run its best. My first gear is like slower than a stock NA 3.5 due to the low compression and bigger turbo.

Can you just retard the timing so much to increase gas temps and get the turbo spooling quicker?

That won't be anywhere near as effective as nitrous.

Power is power no matter where it comes from. Nitrous, turbo, methanol, lot of timing, someone pushing the car, etc.... w/e makes you get through the 1/4 fastest is what matters.

I love UPS, got my kit today!!!!!
Installation will take place after next week, then testing at the 1/8th track, and hopefully week after or 3 weeks from now, to the 1/4 track!

So I am going to post pics of uninstalled items like the newb's do!

I agree, once I get some tuning done at the 1/8th, ill head over to the 1/4. If it wasnt for traction issue I would street tune it like I always do and go straight to the 1/4 track but trying to tune nitrous launch on street it useless lol, even without nitrous.

Was thinking of setting the AFR down to low 10's between 0psi to 10psi. So that when the 50dry shot activates it will hopefully bring the a/f to high 11's or low 12s. Not sure how much fuel the 50 shot is going to need.

just ordered a .024 (Aprox 30-35hp shot at 950psi) jet to start off with, I think a 50 shot to start tuning is a bit large since I have no clue where afr is going to be. Once I see how much the afr changes with the 24 i'll determine if I even need the 50 (.032jet).

I found a great thread on a question I had previously asked, http://www.modularfords.com/forums/s...-Off-Spray-A-f....

Basically the difference in AFR between no spray and with spray, gives me a rough idea on what to expect.

Nitrous hardware is in, tomorrow I should be installing the wiring, shoudlnt be more than 15min, then for a quick drive to test it out.

Issue I had, the .024 jet i received is an NX jet, which they use a wider base on the nozzle, so i cant fit it in mine, I need a thinner jet. I guess I am forced to start off a 50shot (.032) lol.

W0rd!! the nitrous works lol, for some reason was so nervous when I sprayed it. I set it to spray from 2k to 5k and from 0psi to 6psi, eventually sprayed all the way to 10psi. Did a launch and instant burnout as soon as it comes in at 2k, boost comes in right away as well. Usually in 1st, I floor it, it chirps then kinda of starts spinning ontop of 1st, this time was a sudden burnout! Perfect for the track with slicks.

The J&S was complaining a little bit when I would spray it in 2nd gear from 2k rpm. I guess its too much load at such low rpm, knock-retard gauge was lighting up. No knocking when I would spray it say from 3500 or 4k. AFR is in the 11's. Checked the spark plugs after spraying it a bunch of times, absolutely no sign of problems. J&S works!

Also this was using a 50shot, at bottle pressure of 900psi.

Set it to spray from 3k+. 2k puts a lot of load onto the tranny.

Yeah, im not going to spray that low anymore. The nitrous is afterall for the track not for roll racing lol. So ill actually leave it to spray at 2k since at the track it will only do that in 1st gear, after 1st gear boost comes in and no more spray. 1st gear revs very very quick since its shorter, so not alot of load. 10psi in 1st gear is ****ing awesome!!!! lol

nice to heard your having good results

yeah since this is only for the track I would leave it a 2k rpms, since the rpms will never go that low in any other gear

yeah I am anxious to go to the track now. Nitrous makes a world of difference, now with more power I still barely beat my 3.0 (nitrous+312whp) 1/8th record. So now that I am spraying and finally spooling this turbo, I SHOULD crush that stupid 8.5ET 1/8th I did a few months ago. I am praying I see a deep 7sec slip.
