BTW, I've got one uncommitted Cattman FastCat in stock, so if someone wants to grab that for 10% off ($225 instead of $250) and free shipping (when sent with your catback), give us a call and let me know. The openings of this 300-cell all-metal cat are 2.75", so it makes a great transition from 2.5" y-pipes to the 3" catback.

Great pics Schmelly. If possible, take a few pics of it installed from underneath the car, over the rear axle, profile of exhaust tip at rear bumper etc. Thanks!

Hey Wizard! You're upgrading from a 2.5" on one(The SC'd Beast) 4thGen and an OEM on your second 4th Gen....Is that correct?

I snapped a few pics as I was installing it. I'll take some more pictures tomorrow, its too dark for any good pictures right now. I'll have an exhaust clip up soon.

Stock, 2.25", 3"

This catback was well worth the money in my opinion. Quality and fitment is excellent. No issues with the b pipe sagging down. The exhaust note is deeper and throatier, perhaps a bit louder too, though that could be due to the different exhaust tone the cattman catback gives compared to my old catback.

Someone post vids with Cattman headers. Curious to know how it sounds ;p

Sounds great though schmelly; fit is spot on with a lovely tip. Brian's done it again

Hey, that looks pretty good! Tip seems well oriented with the rear bumper. Thanks for posting the pics and clip.

You'll notice it gets a little quieter, and the tone will soften slightly over the next week or two. Right now all the internal surfaces are reflective metal, but the acoustics will change noticeably as a thin carbon layer builds up.

Nope, we haven't maintained that site for years, never will. I'll make a new one before I ever wade into that mess.

Everyone has their own reasons for doing mods. It isn't always black and white about the best bang for the $. At certain point a 2 1/4" will become restriction, maybe he is planning on forced induction or 3.5 swap. Maybe he wanted the sound.

I wouldn't stick N2O on my Infiniti that probably runs only 14's. What works for me isn't what work for you.

That Pacesetter exhaust system's resonator is bigger than the Pacesetter OE (14" resonator), so you must have replaced it with a larger unit?

A bit off topic, but did anyone ever do a before dyno to get a rough comparison of what the power output would be after installing this 3" catback?

I am going to attempt this with my 2.5" mandrel bent LSS/Remus catback.

Installing the EU and tuning along with doing a couple of runs with the 2.5" catback and then throwing on the Cattman 3" to see what it changes. This is on a VQ30DEK swap with most of the bolt ons. I wasn't going to go with a 3" exhaust until I built up my motor but this group deal came up and I went for it. This along with all the other stuff I've done over the years will now give me a good foundation for the built motor.

Also I will take video of before and after from behind the car to get a good comparison of the sound differences. If I could get my hands on a dB meter I would like to record the change in sound as well.

This would not be for any 4th gen unless it was heavily modded or planning to be heavily modifed. There are plenty of cheaper 2.5" options available out there for the 97% of guys with mild A32 setups.

I haven't replaced anything on it, that's the way I bought it from another member here on the Org.

Not a dyno, but I recorded some 1st and 2nd gear pulls with my EU on my old catback and I will record some 1st and 2nd gear pulls with the 3" catback sometime tomorrow and then compare the times.

My low end feels a bit more responsive with the 3" catback.

I just put Cattman headers, y-pipe, and fastcat on last month. That completes by exhaust to a full Cattman. I will post a video of some drive by's (if I can figure out how to do that) after the car gets back from the bodyshop....lots of cancer being removed.

I am still rockin the 2.5" Cattman catback from 6 years ago and it is still going strong. Brian Cattman knows his stuff and has the product to back it up.

Yes, by the first week of november, I should have done the following...

Setups are as follows:
Before (I/WS Y+Cat/Stock Catback -bad gaskets on the y-pipe-)
Middle (Same mods above, but with fixed gaskets)
After (Above with the Cattman 3" installed)
Final Setup (Intake+OBX 3.5 Headers+Test Pipe+Cattman 3")

-Exhaust Videos (Won't be posted on here for certain reasons) of the following setups... Before, Middle, After, Final

-Actual Dynos on a Dynojet of the Following... Before (Done in may), Middle and After (will be done on the SAME day).

-Dynos on iDyno (app on iphone) will be done too with ALL of the setups, this will also test the accuracy of the iDyno and hopefully save me some $$$.

Anywho... Can't wait to get mine!

if it helps any for those worried about loosing some lowend , i just dynoed my 3.5 4th gen, intake, test pipe, greddy sp2, cutout.

the cutout was worth 10 whp, and it actually bettered down low too. so the 3inch kit should net positive results. a 3 inch y pipe (using 2.25 equal length would be nice)

does anyone have additional pics of the end result showing the tip of the muffler and its location in relation to the bumper on a 97 -99? that pic looks like it sits a bit too recessed??

this kit looks very nice, i like the big muffler, way bigger than the usual off the shelf mufflers...

That's good to hear I'm not imagining my low end feeling more responsive.. But I think it was just clashez running his mouth about losing low end.

I have some more pics of the tip in relation to the bumper on my other computer. I'll upload them later tonight.

I've seen the same results with my car and it's failing Y-pipe gaskets (car smells and sounds wonderful btw), I wish I could affford to do a 3rd dyno session with my car as is without the fixed gaskets, but I think it would prove more beneficial to the org to fix the gaskets and do all of my maintenance first before I dyno the add ons of the cattman 3".

Thanks for the good info Schmelly. Do you think your XS Power ypipe terminates exactly where OEM terminates, or is there any chance it falls short?

To everyone else in the GD, please post install pics asap. Thanks.

I'm 90% positive it terminates in the same spot as OEM. I installed my ypipe and HFC at different times and do not recall any issues with the ypipe terminating earlier than the OEM ypipe. I reused the OEM hangers on my ypipe, so I'll check them out tomorrow and see if they seem to be pushing or pulling with respect to the rear of the car.

Edit: I checked it out today and confirmed that the ypipe terminates earlier than OEM, pulling the exhaust inward/away from the bumper.
