Front suspension completely rebuilt including converting to the ES man trans mounts. Turned the car around in the garage and will replace the rear struts as time allows. Also ordered new tires for the factory 16" SE/GLE 5 spokes I picked up. Once the struts are done it will go in for a 4 wheel alignment.

Went to a "U Pull It" type salvage yard again after getting a pristine OEM HP steering hose a few weeks ago for $6.50. There are probably 10-12 5th gen Max's in the yard. This time I grabbed 2 MAF sensors, rear leather seat, 2 front leather seats, 2 coils, and a boat load of various little parts for $79. One of the junkyard seats was damaged on the seatback only, so I replaced that part of it with the back of my original passenger seat. With all that I did, the interior looks very close to brand new. I wanted to grab a i30 electric rear window shade I saw, but decided against it...

One word !!!! look see this guy knows ^^^^^: But I should ask,by any chance is there a 5 gen with a tan carpet in good shape?
Most of these cars have greasy parts strewn all over the insides that others have pulled from the car. There was an I30 with tan carpet that was good though if I remember. This is in Atlanta though.
Finished the complete suspension rebuild tonight by doing the rear struts. New tires and front end alignment done on Friday. I cannot wait to take it for a spin after all the work is done.
Installed the glovebox and passenger a pillar cover from a car at the local pick-n-pull. Working on the wiring to get the compass/auto dim mirror installed.
Replace the broken driver's rearview mirror with one from the local yard in the same color as my car. Also added the autodial/compass rearview mirror. Also working on replacing front wheel bearings.
Finally got to the front brakes. Brembo blanks and hsp pads, they're pretty nice, no more shaking under breaking although they grown a little during cold slow stops. Also used a clay bar on the paint, what a difference.
are you not 3.5 swapped? for some reason i thought maybe you made that jump
if not, give me more info on dat pulley. was planning to pull mine on the next oil change and do the seal behind it, i had thoughts to replace the pulley while i was there
No I chickend out in the last minute! Still 3.0 strong
Got the pulley from ebay for da fitty! Just put some thread lock on the timing ring as suggested by a fellow member!
Put on a 1/2 extention on the crank bolt I used the floor for leverage some use the oil filter than just bump the starter, my pulley was stuck pretty good but just sprayed it and tapped it with a sledge hammer and was able to wiggle it out!
Nice! I was goofing off with a guy up the road from me. He has a bmw 335i 2 door. Raced him from about 45 to 120mph. I pulled 1/2 a car on him. No to bad being that car runs a 13.5 in the 1/4.
Also picked up a pioneer 3800bhs and installed it. My less than 1 year old pioneer 2700bs died on me. Hope the 3800 lasts longer (bought it from a dealer this time so I have a warranty just in case)
So my car ran out of gas today @ half tank, so I had to use that old faithful gas can in the trunk.
I have the p0455/p1448 code but I was told that these wouldn't cause our gas needles to read wrong. (Which makes sense)
Could it be the Fuel pump or sending unit? I saw in a thread that our cars fuel pumps and sending units don't usually go bad. When it did run out of gas, I heard a popping sound from under the hood. Almost like a leak.
Any help is appreciated, as I'm Kinda stumped..

Indeed it was. I just adjusted my gas needle as 2kmaxim suggested. In this thread https://maxima.org/forums/5th-genera...l-problem.html (post #33) I got it to read just like the FSM. So we'll see if that fixes the problem, otherwise fuel sender unit it is.
Tbh, I think is all in my head but feels like it can pick up faster at higher speeds when before throttle response was a bit lagging before the car actually went
Does the needle move when the a/c is turned on?
If so that could be a poor ground. My bmw did that that's why i'm saying it could be it.
Just add more ground straps if it does.
