Any car can be a 10 sec. car. It's just a lot harder with a Max than it is with a DSM or domestic.

anything can be mad fast with the right amount of money.

1 turbo can/would do fine. ALot of people that are interested in twin turbocharging the Max in my opinion is more into it for the "Show" then actaully going faster.

Yeah, even a lot of the twin-turbo Supra guys are converting to larger single turbos for faster quarter mile times.

Dumb question: what does DSM mean?

Thanks, Sprint, that makes sense. Mitsubishi is Japanese for Three Diamonds, and their logo is three diamonds in a star pattern.

There was already one Turbo max that has hit 13.2 with a bad clutch and bad street tires.

Now when he gets his clutch replaced with an ACT, he can engage at a higher RPM and have a better launch. Also he canthen turn up the boost. I forget the level he was at but he was planning on running higher next time. Also if he had some slicks or even better tires then that should help a lot too. You never know, next time he could hit mid to low 12's maybe even close to 11's. Then it is a whole new game.

Didn't you see the Fast and the Furious? That blue 4th gen supposedly could do 9s if they adjusted the timing and fuel... and that car didn't even have a turbo or supercharger!!

a turbo 4th gen with almost all bolt on's and 5speed w/ good driver could achieve mid 12's on slicks if not better. put a 11shot in there and your looking at high 10's roughly problem is your car wont last longer than another year

Three diamonds for the mitsus, and the Eagle Talon is included in the DSM category. Chrysler's star is in there

what is an 11 shot? never heard of that before. Anyways, even turbcharged and slapping NOS in there, it would be hard to run 10s. Making a 16 or 15 sec car run 14s is easy, now making a 12 or 11 sec car running 10s is sooo much different.

actually the three points are actually an airplane propeller....mitsu made airplanes (remember the japanese zero?) after the war the us made the japanese and mitsu agree to never make planes again....so they went to cars...the three diomond shapes are the airplane propeler in remebeance of their heritage.....may sound funny but its very true.....

Making the power is not too bad. But then trying to get into 10 second range, you have to worry about your tranny since our trannies will never hold that kind of power and neither will the drivetrain. Then traction is a huge issue too, not to mention you'd have to build a huge roll cage.

I'm sure this exact same debate was going on before the first Civic ran 10's and nobody thought it could be done. But I just don't think anybody is going to dedicate the time and money needed for this on a Maxima.

This has the ring of truth to it. Same thing with the BMW logo, which is also an airplane propellor. The blue and white in the BMW logo are the colors of the Bavarian royal house. If you look at a Bavarian flag, it has a blue and white diamond pattern.

same thing happened with bmw......they made planes not helicoptors...ant the symbol is of a spinning propeller....they had to promise not to make airplanes after the war also and started making cars also...
so now we all know the truth! lol !

also the plymoth Laser is a DSM

Someone should just take a 4th gen 5spd GXE strip it down, add the basic boltons, slicks, the single FP Red Turbo, and a shot of nitrous, and that my friend would be an amazing maxima

This was run last year/season. Jeff has a L28 turbocharged engine in his 1st gen Maxima with nitrous. It was run in Florida somewhere. You can verify this with some guys on Z31.com if you would like(its in their dragtimes section as well) if you don't believe me(which most people don't but..)
