What does a bad V2 SC sound like?

I swear mine's gotten a lot louder lately, I can't confirm it though. And when I listen closely to the blower, it makes kind of a grinding sound. Doesn't leak oil or anything though. I've got about 20K on the blower, is it time for a rebuild?

If your going to that meet on DEC 14, I can listen to it and you can listen to my blower and compare the noise to see if it is damaged.

BlackCat said his V2 was louder than my V1 when his bearings went bad. That's hella loud.

Look through my earlier threads for the wav file I posted on how bad my blower sounded. Iansw helped host the file. How does it compare to yours?

The worst sound that I've ever heard

Exactly! That's why I sent mine in. This kind of noise I really didn't want to attract attention on.

So Shadow, does yours sound like mine?

Thank god it doesn't. Not even close. Maybe it's just the cold weather now. It only started to sound different in cold weather. It's not a huge difference like I said before, but it just sounds different than it used to. Not like yours though.

Well, when the SC noise starts to sound like my wav file that means the bearings are starting to go. Cha-ching!

sounds like a metallic grinding noise? or similar to the old V1 cricket chirping. but not as loud.

if your bearings are shot. you're screwed...

rebuild with bearings is like $6xx.00

just the seals is $4xx. but they check to see if the gears are ok. and after i got my seals replaced? my sc got HELLA quiet.

It's more like the cricket noise, that's what I hear when the hood is shut. Not nearly as loud though. It's just when I pop the hood, it sounds like something is grinding in there, but it's not that loud so I'm not positive.

Ok, I had my V2 for about a week now, and I have the same symptoms, then again I forgot how mine sounded when it was first installed. Is there a wav file available of a V2 without any grinding?

Ok I found this clip at maximadriver.com of Skimax's CAI on his SC (not sure if its V1 or V2), but mine sounds exactly like his, if you pay close attention, you can hear a buzzing on the blower behind the crickets sound. Is this normal?

Well, the other night me and DCmax decided to record my Blitz BOV before I decided to change it. You could see how it sounds when I was revving it up. Excuse the music if its hard to hear the blower. Also, I assumed my blower sounded like the link above of the CAI, please tell me if something doesn't sound right. Excuse the bad lighting as well, we'll have a clip in the daytime of the Gerddy later.
