Anyone install their own Fuel Pressure gauge?

I'm planning on installing my Autometer electrical fuel pressure gauge due to lack of funds and time.
I've already figured out which hose to tap into..
Just wanted to know how messy the job would be.. Should I prepare to be drenched in gasoline??

You mean the pump or the filter?

RBa, why not squeeze off the lines so they don't leak fuel? Bend the line over itself and clamp both sides off, then cut in the middle.

the filter....according to Haynes manual, 5th gen has an intergral fuel filter in the pump, located in the tank.

You're a braver modder than I am. I don't mess with anything that can kill me, which is pretty much everything .

Good luck with the install, do a write-up for those of us to follow.

Re: Anyone install their own Fuel Pressure gauge?

just a related question...do you guys have any idea how or what kinda "T"/fitting I can use to mount/tap the fuel line to fit this pressure sender(its for oil pressure, but should work for fuel as wel)--->

I can't find a "T"/brass fittings at Home Depot that accepts the 1/8"NPT male end of the sender...any ideas??

Maybe try an auto-parts store or summitracing.com.

DA-MAX -

I purchased my fitting through JEGS.com. I did not have any luck finding what I needed locally at any parts store.

The part is relatively inexpensive, maybe a dollar or two. Performance shops should carry or be able to order also!

Any good hardware or plumbing supply store will also have 1/8 NPT pipe Tees.
